Hello Everyone,

Long story short: I just quit my job prior to filing my affidavit of support. I have a good co-sponsor lined up and am not worried about future employment elsewhere. HOWEVER, I am worried about RFEs during my NVC process. Namely on my Affidavit of support.

SInce this is my first year working, I have not needed to file taxes for the 2007-2009 tax years. This year I need to as I have worked 9 months. So, as per advice from this board, I will need to put together a letter explaining why I did not file taxes. However, I am not sure If I will need to explain why I am unemployed?

So I imagine mY affidavit of support looking like this (as per advice of the guides):

- AoS Form

- CoSponsor 864A

- Pay stubs (mine and cosponsors)

- Cosponsor's tax information

- Letter explaining the lack of my tax information.

Sounds good...so far

So i put together this message:

I am not required by law to file tax returns for the 2007-2009 tax years because my gross income was below the IRS filing requirements. Since I meet IRS filing requirements for the 2010 tax year, i will be filing for the 2010 tax year. If you have any questions or concerns on the above matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at:

So in short, What do you guys think? I've read the guides and as many posts as I could on the subject. So hopefully I didn't miss the post with the answer.. :)

Thank you for your guy's help

Off topic question, I saw the VISA processing times that are posted on the State Department Website. It looks like 999 days. Does that only apply to

non-immigrant VISA's in Cuba, or all VISA's?
