This is just a general post to let all of you that are / have recently sent in your K-1 applications, if you think your NOA1 is taking too long or any notification for that matter PHONE the USCIS! Don't prolong the call.

My Fiance sent our application in on the 1st October, it was delivered there on the 6th October and we still as of this morning had heard nothing! I finally got my Fiance to call because I was getting worried that we hadn't received our NOA1 notification while others had so soon after their package had been delivered. When he called they said that they were going to send it back to him after 21 days (today was day 17 of waiting), because his 4 copies of the G-325a Biographic Form weren't in the application, when they checked it was actually there (they had seen one "tab" we used to seperate the sections and thought there was only one copy - others were directly after the first one). They then said that they would process it today. We are now waiting for the NOA1 notification to come through.

So please do yourselves a favour if you have a gut feeling that you should have heard something and you haven't give it a go and phone them! We lost 2 weeks, if we hadn't called to follow up we would have probably lost a month due to an unnecessary RFE, with the length it would have taken to be mailed back to my Fiance and then the length of time it took to mail back to the USCIS!

Good luck to all those that are starting / have started the process already...

no one said it is useless, not at least when there is something that they should be doing regardless of a time frame and they arent ( if you call after getting your first notice of action and BEFORE the five months time frame,it is useless ).after all USCIS is the responsible office if something goes wrong and our main resource

I have been told a few times that calling would be useless, when i asked if i should phone to check why my NOA1 could be taking a while, that is why i said it's not. I haven't received my first notification so in this case it wasn't useless for me and so others know that it's not i wrote about it. It could very well be useless after NOA1 and before five months is over, but i'm talking about our NOA1 not being received, and wondered why. If others get worried about not receiving their NOA1's i wanted them to know that they should call and check on it... to ease their minds a bit like it did for us...

FOUR copies of G325a? Why are four necessary? We only sent one for each of us and they were a one page doc each. :o

^ This. Paper reduction act which went into effect awhile ago. Only one G-325A per person is needed. Says it in the I-129F instructions also (if you had the updated ones from when the act first went into effect).

I'm not sure. Ours were one page docs too, and i saw somewhere to put in three copies of the original, so that's what we did. Then when my Fiance called they said they weren't all there but they were. We sent the docs in on October 1st, not sure when the paper reduction act came into effect? But sounds like with the reply above it came into effect a while ago?? Hmmm...
