Divorce after 1 month in US....Long-sad-story

WOW... :wow: I was reading it and right down to the writing style...it sounded like something my ex would do. Yep, she did have an aunt "convienently" close. No, there wasn't abuse and no there weren't any police called unless her cousin that came to pick her up was an undercover cop. He looked more a overweight druggy to me than a cop. And we did get married within 12 hours of her being here because her mom didn't want her "living in sin" ...but I guess living with another guy while married another is OK. Ohhh I digress... And yep, she was on Filipinaheart.com one week after she left me trolling for another sucker. This post could be her trolling VJ for some help in finding some way to stay here. I know, her and her aunt's attempt to do AOS without me failed and they lost $1,010 and her 90 days to respond with my sponsoship was up 2 weeks ago. She's very good at telling stories and gaining sympathy. And yes, the boyfriend did ask me to divorce her so he could marry her and he thought she could stay here after they were married. Interesting.......

Johnny,

I am sorry to know about your continued problems because of your ex. You know, that other member's story did sound a lot like a claim that your ex would make. Unbelievable. How are you these days? What happened with your Peruvian friend, any new developments there?

Good luck!

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

Life for me is getting better everyday. I don't feel so sad anymore. I kind of steered away from VJ for a little while because it reminded me of things that I didn't want to remember. The first 3-4 months of my problems, I just didn't even log in. But I have made some great friendships on VJ through the past few years and this site is full of really wonderful people that have the best of intentions. And I still believe that it's magical when this journey is done for the "right" reasons. The right reason should above all else should be for love.

Ummm .. I travelled to Peru last month and spent a week with a very wondeful and sincere person that I've known for a few years. This trip helped me feel good about myself again and I had a great time in Peru and of course I needed a vacation. I don't know what's in the future for her and I, but I don't see any wedding bells this soon after what just happened to me, and of course I'm in no hurry. Maybe another year or so ask me that same question

hey Johnny, good to hear an update, keep doing what you're doing, and everything will fall into place.

Btw, happy bday! :goofy:

Thanks for the Bday wishes Lisa! I slipped through work all day yesterday without one "Happy Bday" or cake or cookies for the occasion.. But my daughter did webcam me last night and sing Happy Bday to me... that was sooooo cool...

Yea when I read that story I instantly thought of your story but couldn't find this topic so someone else did (Mike).

Hey maybe it's her aunt posting for her? :P This is getting interesting.

The only difference is, with the other thread, there was no marriage to the original petitioner, which changes the situation drastically.

That was my first thought too. Course she could have stretched that story as well, but still it changes things once there is a marriage on a K1. I don't doubt that my ex's boyfriend also talked her into marriage as he thought she could stay if they were married. It just makes her case look worse and worse when judgement day finally comes as she keeps digging herself deeper into the lies and the fraud.

Hi Johnny...

Thanks for bringing back a good Alaska memory for me. I've thrown back a few at Chilkoot Charlies. I wonder if I saw you open for the Misfits there. :) I'm glad to hear you're busy with your music again...it's always good for the soul.

Sorry to hear about your bad apple. Looks like Roxy Rexie is getting a well-deserved :bonk: here on VJ.

I'll keep an eye on the Latin American forum...maybe we'll see you there some day. ;)

Regards...

Two weeks ago I was told by the ICE Agent that her file has been sent the Adjudicator's office for a removal proceeding hearing. I was also told there was never an abuse claim or any other contact from my ex with immigration since her arriving in country. They have not been able to find her and the mail sent to her aunt gets returned to ICE. There never was any abuse of any kind, it was just more a concern of mine because I read that some people use it as defense to remain here. I stayed very calm during our short time together. My guess is she's hiding out now for fear of immigration deportation. I haven't heard from her (actually her boyfriend) since Sept.

Hi Johnny! Good thing you found out about the evil little witch and made the right decision about divorcing her. We hope you are doing well and happy right now. God bless you always..

Thanks pinky&danny and thanks to all the VJ supporters that I've been in touch with over the months since this happened. You guys have helped me get over this and helped me do the right thing. I've made some great friends here. I can't lie, the heart still hurts on occassion but life is getting so much better and most of the events are becoming just a bad memory. I did go to Peru in November but I just haven't really made that connection with my old friend. I think I just needed more time to get the heart and trust level back to normal, right now I'm not ready for a relationship.

I even got a good laugh from VJ last month when a mystery poster seemed to have a very similar story to my ex and she was looking for advice to coninue her scam. May or may not have been her, but I still got a good chuckle on the excellent VJ responses to her inquiry to continue scamming some poor soul.

As far as personal life, I recently formed a new rock band in New Orleans called Crimes of Passion...we're a Pat Benatar tribute band (If anyone is coming to the city for Mardis Gras and likes this kind of music send me a PM). Life here in the big easy is great and I'm sure in time I'll be ready to try this love business again. But right now I'm just enjoying my time as a good father and having a great day job and having a good time playing guitar at night in a band that seems to attract lots of women  Gob bless you all! Happy New Year!
