Medical Exam came back - Class B1 TB

Hey everyone,

Well, everything WAS moving along swiftly. But my fiancee got her medical and the Xray was deemed to show TB but no positive sputum tests. The doc said it was Class B1 (inactive?).

So, does this put a damper on the interview? What can we expect in Islamabad?

Thanks,

Mike

Well, this thread may answer my question. Also, the lab tech at the doctors told her it should not be a problem.

B1 is inactive or latent TB, yes?

If it's anything like the Philippines, assuming your fiancee's interview goes well, they will give her a visa but ask her to undergo medical surveillance upon landing. That would mean seeing someone at the local health clinic to validate the results of the examination. If she does, make sure she keeps a copy of the follow up chest x-ray AND the chest x-ray report. She will need both when she adjusts status.

You may want more location-specific answers through the South Asia regional form...kindly ask one of the moderators to move your post there.

Yes, they did call it inactive. We'lL know more when they open the packet at the interview, but in my fiancee's followup call, he said it was inactive, possibly because there was no sputum to test, just signs of something in one lung on the xray.

She is starting antibiotics now per their recommendation. I just hope they allow her to come and finish treatment here under the watch of qualified doctors.

Thank you for the reply.
