If a person does not know their ex's DOB, do they leave that field blank?

"N/A" and "none" don't apply here.... is it best to put "unknown" or just leave blank?

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

27-DEC-2016 -:- N400 form delivered/picked up by USCIS

where would they get that if it's not on their paperwork (i.e. marriage/divorce paperwork) and they have no contact with the person for many years (they cant just call up and ask)?

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. DOB = Date of brith.

I see. Apologies. I was looking and responding to the A number thread. If you don't know the DOB, you should put unknown, not n/a. And perhaps you should include a letter explaining the situation. That's what I'd do.

You don't want to leave stuff blank. The immigration drones can't comprehend blank spot. They'll issue RFE for blanks.

Thanks Muhammad n Maryam for clarifying DOB. sorry, i do a lot of paperwork so that is a common abbreviation for me.

IndigoSkies, thanks. i wasnt sure because i've not seen anyone mention in the forums that they've used "unknown" on forms and i've not read anywhere in any instructions for that to be used (but of course i'm not that experienced!). like i said in the OP, definitely "N/A" and "None" (which i HAVE seen in instructions) do not apply here so it is which is the lesser of two evils to do.... a term they arent used to seeing, handwritten because the field requires numbers to be typed (and then what happens when they go to type it in on their end?) or a blank (which they say never to do!) and risk rejection of form for not being complete.

i just wanted another opinion becasue felt better to fill in SOMETHING :D

I used "UNKNOWN" for both of my parents' information (DOB, place of birth etc.....long story) and had no issues at all at any point in the process. The key as IndigoSkies posted is to never leave anything blank.

To answer your question, I would put in UNK = unknown, or you could put * DNR = do not recall which is actually a better answer in our culture ;)

probably! :rofl: the month is known but day and year is iffy

in my case i could never remember the ex's b-day even though we were together long time, til AFTER we divorced :P I guess i was so happy then the mindblock was lifted :hehe:
