Update: I just called NVC to see if I can get any additional information about my case. The lady said that "your case has been completed and now we are waiting to schedule an appointment based on the consulate load. Please call back next week Tuesday and we can let you know if you have gotten an interview date or no in December".

i know Mumbai consulate is really really busy and takes 1.5-2 months at the minimum. So doubt it will happen in December but January, 2011 looks good for me.

Except few, most of the NVC operators that I have been talking to are very unprofessional and rude. They even don't know how to talk to the people. C'mmon we have paid for their service. Those friggin' $404 and $88 plus others fees after NVC completion, those are our hard earned money and we aren't paying them for being so unpolite with us.

Indigo, did you hear any progress on your NVC stand?

And most ofthese people sound like they are perpetually either stoned, drunk, or risen upfrom sleep just 20 seconds ago because you inconvenienced them by calling them.

No update on my case. NVC still hasn't tied my IV with my case yet. I was so discouraged by this guys slurring voice, I didn't bother asking him if they have started working on my AOS package. I plan to call again tonight toward the last moments when NVC is open.

So we called NVC today, found out that they aren't too up on the DS-260 and we have to fill out the DS-230 and send it to them. So as I'm filing this out now, I have some questions:

#31a. Person named in 14 accompanying who will accompany you to the U.S.

-is it N/A since my husband is already in the U.S.?

#32. Past employments...I have to list them from the last ten years, I have the present 6 years accounted for but the last 4 is when I was in university..do I just put STUDENT?

#33. Schools...how far back to I go? Do they just want high school, university...or do I include elementary school?

Had a little bit of a bad day today, got hit on the rear of my car by a guy whose brakes failed. Nothing major. Just have to get it repaired (mostly bumper and a small dent on the trunk, very drivable though).

Hope you have got your India tickets all booked now and hope you got good rates. Also, check out jetairways.com and use promotion code JACCIN for good prices. I just booked my tickets to India for December 3rd. Will be there for a couple of months and plan to be back late Feb/early March. I guess you are traveling a week after me.

I hope to get SIF by month end before leaving so if there is an sort of RFE, I can take care of it before leaving.

Glad you make your trip one week before mine

Yes, I purchased all the 3 tickets today. Bit expensive, but I think slightly better than the regular Dec rate when I adjusted the dates bit. Jet airways is not a good option to Cochin. It is good to Chennai. I booked through Etihad Airlines, very convenient time for me. I am just 1/2 hour drive from the airport in Cochin.
