i dont understand, if and only if that letter is true and perhaps her parents are really innocent, then didnt they pay the amount for their daughter's sake? I remember 10 years ago when i read this article, the death was because of her mom's jealousy and obsession of her daughter?

Pat Ramsey's motive was her daughters beauty it was jealousy ............... thats sick....i stand by what ive written before it was her, and this guy is just seeking attention

Patsy Ramsey killed the poor child she was sick woman.

Patsy Ramsey was too smart to write that stupid of a letter. Academically smart. And $118,000.00 was pocket change to her. I doubt she even knew the amount of the bonus. The whole theory of that letter being written by a dead child's mother after molesting and strangling her to death was always - well - dumb at best.

My theory is that John Karr doesnt want to spend time in a Thailand goal for the sex offences he has been accused of there, so said he killed JonBenet so that he will be brought back to USA

I'm assuming nothing - excusing nothing - or accusing. I had to get past that 10 years ago.

I knew Patsy Ramsey. We attended the same high school and graduated the same year. We were in classes together. We played the parts of mother and daughter in the Senior Class play.

Were we best friends? No. Did I know her intimately? No. She ran in a different circle than I did. She was a bright overacheiver with excellent grades. She was poised and sophisticated and believe it or not, unaffected. She was a member of the school all-female dance team - most of those girls were 'popular' and used the spot on the team to lord it over the 'lesser' females. Patsy was not that way. She seemed a rather well adjusted young woman. Her greatest high school accomplishments were in the area of high school debate. She earned several trophies for her efforts. She went off to college. She competed as Miss WV in the Miss USA pageant. She met and married a very very very wealthy older man, who whisked her away to a life of such wealth that most of us never could dream of. When she came to our 10 year reunion, she came on her private plane. He flew in commercial the next day.

The young woman I knew was not capable of such a hideous crime. I'm sure her position in Atlanta and Colorado society changed her. I would see her picture on television and feel such conflict - such sorrow. I wondered, like anyone else, what she might know. Or did she know nothing save for a deep, terrible pain.

I decided it wasn't up to me to judge. She is gone now. There may be secrets she took with her. And then again there may be only the type of pain that none of us ever want to suffer - the loss of a child.

John Karr may or may not be the killer. It's been 10 years now. I can wait a while longer to learn the truth.

Personally I find the "trial by media" offensive, some commentators seemed almost sorry they could initially no longer point the finger of guilt at the family, and now once again relish the fact they can.

I find it interesting that although, by all accounts, the Boulder police went after the Ramseys as almost sole suspect they couldn't get a Grand Jury indictment. That they failed to submit DNA evidence for years in my opinion heads should roll and roll.

Two things stand out over the last few days, a comment made on Court TV that if you look at pictures of Patsy Ramsey (the eyes) in her later years they are empty that of a totally broken woman. And the fact that the only reasoned, decent comments seem to be coming from the Ramsey family. Considering the "stuff" that has been hurled at them for the last ten yrs and still continues the dignity and restraint they seem to show is commendable. (and as an aside having lived here 2 years now if I was ever involved in any suspicion of a crime the first thing I would do is "lawyer up")

I would be curious to know how many murderers of their own children employ such grotesque and brutal methods as were used in this killing - there I admit it I do not believe they are guilty and as such my sympathies for all they have been through ON TOP of losing a child in such a manner are unbounded. Whatever the truth I only hope that one day it can be revealed in a court of law (not the media) and justice for JonBenet is found - and if it isn't a family member I hope to God that they can forgive the things that have been said against them.

Do those kiddie beauty pageants still happen in the US?

Yes they do...and my personal opinion is that these little girls shouldn't be dressed up to look like women. I've been asked to let my daughter enter these popularity contests. Joel and I absolutely refuse to allow it. My former SIL used to enter her daughters in these moneysucking things as well. When her oldest daughter was 12 or 13, there was a man that followed her around, watching the pageants she was in, and even tried several times to make contact with her. Was her mom worried? Nope...not one bit. She loved the fact that her daughter was getting all this attention. When she was finished dressing up her daughters, they looked at least 10 years older than they were. Not to mention the competition between the mothers backstage...trying to sabotage each other in subtle ways (all this from her mouth).

Why can't little girls be...well...little girls??? Novel idea, eh?

10 years ago well it was pointed to Pat Ramsey beacuse of the letter, now they think its Karr BUT.... they have forgoten to mention 10 yearsago they had her stpbrother in question and then removed him as a suspect..... what if .... what if ... this DNA isnt Karr but her step brothers?????

I dont know but why would they ionthe first place have him as a suspect.... who knows maybe the WHOLE family was in on it and he is the one they arelooking for . for the DNA

I don't believe the parents had anything to do with her death. I think we have been fed by the media. We do not know all of the details, only what they want us to know.

I also don't believe investigators would have said the Karr knew key info that nobody else knew and gone through bringing him back if they did not believe the case was strong.

He may not have done it, we can't know that. But to be led by what the media has reported to us is really foolish.

What are the odds that the randsom letter contained the ecact amount of his bonus.... and the letterwas traced back to her not anyone else. who else but them had acces to their finances... if their is someone ... compare their handwritting to the letter as simple as that
