I called NVC today, they told me that they just recieved paperwork from USCIS. I asked them the NVC # they told me it will take from 4 to 6 wks. Should i keep calling them to find out the case number???

a good indicator -

call anytime, get INTO the AVR instead of 'getting a human'

and then WHEN you are 'issued' a casenumber via the AVR -

call back, get a Human, and go forth.

Expect 2 weeks past NOA-2 'approval date', then call daily, around 8 PM EST, for another 2 weeks, until ya 'got it'.

NVC needs to do 'backroom ops' on that casefile -

when they're finished, ready, and prepped for 'whats next' - the casefile # will be available.

yes, they told me they just received it. i have no clue how.:) i think yours will be soon, some time this week.

I'd say try the State dept in 2 or 3 days - 202-663-1225, I think. You'll have to listen to a couple of messages first, but it's fairly quick overall and their staff are typically quite friendly and helpful in my experience. I had more luck getting my case number with the State Dept than I did with NVC (NVC wouldn't release ANY info to me because they had entered my fiance's birthdate into their system incorrectly when they received it from USCIS, and we had to take the extra step of getting it corrected.)

Hi, Justmarried10, I have a question for you or for anyone that may be able to assist me. About June 17, I mailed off my 1-130 package to the Chicago lockbox along with an "E-Notification form" filled out to have emails sent to me about my case status. On June 24, I received a NOA 1 in the mail. The question that i have is, I received a email in the middle of AUGUST that had a subject heading USCIS acceptance confirmation that said:

Dear Applicant/Petitioner:

Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number WAC**********. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your application/petition. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your application remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your application/petition must be verified with USCIS.

skk, you are June filer and it is there in our Sep filers list. You will have NOA2 by the end of this year (Nov/Dec)
