I've asked my parents to be a joint sponsor for my fiance and complete an I-864. My mother agrees but my father is reluctant. Since they fill taxes together, will both need to agree and fill out an I-864 or I-864A? My mother's retirement income is sufficient without including my father's income.

I read your timeline. Congrats on finally getting your I-601 waiver approved.

Your mother can sponsor without your father, but they may include your father in her household size. If they do, and she doesn't support anyone else, then her household size would be considered 3 for the affidavit of support. Does she still qualify with a household size of 3?

Thank you, Jim and congradulations on your AOS approval.

I am filling out the I-134 but if my income and assets are not sufficient, I will need to include a sponsor and their I-864 at the visa interview, correct?

Yes, my mother has enough income for a large family. So, if my mother will fillout the I-864, she'll only list her income and copies of her W-2's?
