Hi,

This may be dumb, but I am worried about messing anything up. My passport expired since applying for my AOS. So, what I will be bringing to my interview is my newly issued, different passport than the copies I sent in with my application and it obviously does not have any of my old entry stamps, etc. I DID rip out my i-94 from my old passport though, to bring with me.

Will that cause any problems? I assume the passport is just for ID purposes? ok that the I-94 is not attached?

Thanks!

As I applied from the USA, you have to send it in to Passport Canada.

The visa needs to be attached to the passport, not a torn out page. Bring the old passport along with the visa page.

I was in a similar situation. They are supposed to return the old passport when they are done. They used to at least.

They took about 8 months to do mine because they kept rejecting the passport photo for shadows. When it was getting close to my AOS interview, the new passport still wasn't ready so I called and asked if they could return the old one immediately because I needed it for immigration and they did so.

Hmmm... well, I received the new one on time. Do you think I must get the old, expired one back?

I would call them and ask. I don't know if they have changed their policy. The last time I renewed was 2007, but that was the 3rd time I renewed from the USA. I have always got the old one back.

I'm not sure, but I just renewed mine and I'm pretty certain they asked if you want the old one back. I got mine back just in case I need it at the interview. I would call them and ask them to send it for you. Good Luck.
