I just sent my husbands I-485 package along with I-765 last tuesday, August 17. I have not received any type of notification that they even have the package (it was sent to the lockbox return receipt and we haven't gotten that back yet either). Yesterday, after reading a few forums, I realized that the I-765 is separate from everything else. I didn't know I had to put in more picture and send extra copies of all the other documents I sent for the I-485.

So, my question, should I send the needed documents now even before they get my package and send an RFE? Or would that just confuse them?

I don't want to wait to get an RFE cause I know that will slow everything down.

Please help.

What's done is done. Wait for the RFE. If you try to "pre-emptively" respond to an expected RFE t can be very difficult for them to match up the news documents you send to your file and everything just gets very confused at their end. It doesn't help things, and can even make things worse, delay-wise.

DON'T PANIC

thank you guys! that wasn't the answer i was hoping for but I just want to do things the right way. oh well... guess we'll just have to wait it out.

i wouldn't worry too much. i didnt send photo's for the I765 either (I probably just used the AOS guide like you and misunderstood it) Anyway I got approved for both without an RFE. Received my cards yesterday and today and on my EAD they just just used a previous photo. You figure they have quite a lot of photos of you by now!!! :-)
