From my experience, I would suggest talk to an operator, everytime you call, to see if you case no. is generated.. Look at my timeline below..the avr system still doesnt have any record of my file and i have "paid" status on my IV fee, that system is not reliabale at all, atleast for me it isnt.

I was approved on Dec. 23, 210 and it still says no record! Of course I call wanting to talk to an operator and the recording says that the NVC is closed "due to inclement weather". Mother f'. I'll keep trying, hopefully their stupid system is just whacky. But I've received nothing in the mail either.

Speaking of mail, did you receive any notification in the mail or did you just ask to talk to the operator?

It seems that no one that got approved at TSC have gotten an NVC case number yet. And there's been a few people that got their "approval notice" at the end of November.

Does this category has any effect of current visa retrogression ? i don't see anyone talking about it in this thread.

Is that why some August filers files have not opened yet?

My 5 months were up the 4th of January, 9 days ago.

I got an email and txt on like 30th dec saying i was approved on 27th..I called Nvc everyday since then, since 3rd i talked to an operator everytime.. and on 5th they had my case no.. iin no all generated. Funny part they received my IV packet today and still avr says no record of my file. I call everyother day to check if the AVR ever updated. :)

This thread is for IR-1/CR-1 visas. There's no visa retrogression in this category of visas. There's no limit on these kind of visas. That's why no one's talking about retrogression.

So IR1/CR1 visa = for US citizens to bring their spouse from other country to US + No retrogression effect?

And F2 category = for US Green card holder to bring their spouse from other country to US and it is affected by recent visa Retrogression ?

Right??

Yes, that's correct. There's an unlimited number of IR-1/CR-1 visas, thus no retrogression.

But for F2 visas, there are a limit on visas per year, thus every person who petitions gets a priority date and retrogression affects when you can get a visa.

If you're doing the F2 visa, there's a whole forum dedicated to that visa here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/112-bringing-family-members-of-permanent-residents-to-america/

Thanks for the explanation. Some one I know filed CR1 visa and I thought that they were affected by the retrogression (but I was wrong).

Thanks again.
