Phone Numbers on I-130

Hello everyone, this is my first post. My husband is an officer with a shipping company and that means that he is usually at sea for 4-6 months at a time. When he is on the ship he uses a satellite phone to call me or a pre-paid phone to avoid international roaming fees on his regular phone. I will be traveling with him and will only be in the states for about 2 weeks (I have a 2 week window to file the I-130) before I leave and my phone becomes useless until we are in the port.

Here is the question. Should I put his home number down on the I-130 form even though he will not be there or should I put his cell number down even though he occasionally uses it when he is on the ship?

Second, since I will be with him for at least a month and will have periodic phone access, should I put my mom's cell number down or my phone number down? I don't want USCIS to call us and think we are up to something if they can't reach us.

OK thanks! I filled in the numbers and then I started to worry about what would happen if they called while we were in the middle of the ocean.

USCIS will not call you.

If you'd like some 'electronic notification' - hey ! add in that G-1145 form , then also sign up at the USCIS 'casefile status' portal after ye've gotten the receipt # in via email. Basically, you'll be waiting on the 'approval notice', then ya gotta get busy with NVC processing.

Hopefully you've gone over, or discovered, the need for 'police clearance certificates' - most ppl initiate those when the I-130 approval notice comes in.
