How important are Phone records?

My fiancee and I have never talked on the phone. Doesn't seem really practical when we can voice chat on Yahoo for free. Is it really important to have phone records when i can print the Video/Voice Call history from Yahoo? I have 5 pages showing 7 months worth of voice chats, nearly every day.

Agreed, my fiancee (now wife!) printed out a variety of our logs. I also sent in my expired phone card although I doubt it had much influence.

I was wondering the same thing, we are getting ready all the paper work for the interview and I dont have many phone logs, just like 3 bill phones with her phone number and for only 1 minute because I would ring her when I was back from work and she would call me back with phone cards, it does show some calls that last longer than 17 minutes tho but I don’t know if its enough. Now after a while we got Magic Jack, I’m not sure if you guys are familiar with it, but its amazing but sadly they don’t keep records of phone calls, but I was planning on including the receipt she got from purchasing 2 years of magic jack service for me, it has her name and address on it. Do you think it would help at all? .. we mostly talk on Magic jack and Gmail chat! And well Im including chatlogs too … am I ok with that?

If you've got a while till your interview, I highly recommend Vonage. It's only about $25/mo and for an extra $5 to $10 (depending on the country) you can get a virtual phone number in other countries (several available) that would allow the immigrant fiance to call you as though it were a local number. They have very detailed phone logs available online in minutes, and they're searchable, so pulling up JUST phone logs of your calls to your fiance/from your fiance are free. Not only that, but you can use their Simulring feature and have the phone ring simultaneously on your cell phone so you never miss a call.

Not trying to be a commercial, but this has allowed us to talk for hours a day, everyday, very inexpensively for 2 years, and I've got detailed phone logs to back it up. (Thousands of calls, so I sent in a random sampling of 38 pages.)

My phone bill normally runs about $40 (it costs to call his cell, but not his landline, so I call him and he calls me back for free). I'd never have been able to get by for 2 years without it.

I am not the op but: do the following:

On your YM,

1)click on your gf's name or bf's name. You got my point. (as if you are going to send a msg)

2) Then click on actions

3) then contact options

bingo, you find a bunch of history there including calls history, message archive, etc.

Click on your Yahoo Messenger, from the Contacts menu select call history. From there you Print Screen.

Weird... I have no call history. I use the voice call feature too...sometimes too lazy to type But no call history at all???? Thanks guys for the help....

My fiance sent me Magicjack and i've been using it for a month now. MAgic jack have call history. DO print screen on the call log/history.

The chat logs and emails should be fine. We've never once talked on the phone because it is much more convenient to chat on QQ or skype. We do have all of the logs from these as well as emails and logs from all the text messages and the immigration attorney said that was more than enough.

If you aren't showing a history in Yahoo, it is probably because it is turned off. I believe this is the default setting. From Yahoo, click on the messanger menu, settings then select archive. This will show if you are currently archiving chat history or not.

Archive is turned on. I have the the chat logs... But no voice call logs...

Maybe check for an update for your Yahoo messenger. I know I have a huge gap of about 4 months where it didn't keep record my voice chats. Maybe there was a glitch in the previous YM version.

I do not call my fiancee too really! we dont have any phone calls as we used to voice chat in yahoo at least twice a day..so i only have long call history but cant find how to print it there is no feature that you can print it out...I can't copy and paste either it doesn't work..so I took a snap shot using a digital camera and print it i didn't know if that will be ok as it was very clear when i got to printed it...Regarding chat logs I set the preference to save all the message in archieve so its easy to find if you want to print out...
