Well, that was not exactly the date I was hoping for. Meh. Next.

Oh, no. What happened? He seemed to have so much potential.

He was intimidated by the Maven in the flesh, as it turns out, which is a big turn-off. Much reference and deference was made to my education and credentials, and he basically let me run the show. He would start talking about a topic, and then say "Oh, but you probably know so much more about that." I want a man who is secure in his convictions and not wishy-washy, which this one was. He was also too earnest about EVERYTHING and didn't get a lot of my sarcasm. Just wrong and no spark whatsoever. :(

Oh, that bites. Especially about the sarcasm. When I moved to Toronto, those of us from Saskatchewan had some *huh?* moments because they did not really "get" sarcasm, and we were used to using it liberally. And you want a guy who will stand up for himself, or he will just get lost in your personality and you will want to scream. Or shoot him in the face.

I wanted to shoot him in the face. Hell, even my super-intellectual lover doesn't get all of my humour all of the time and it is frustrating to have to explain myself, which then deflates any humour that might have even been there in the first place!

Contrary to popular belief, I want a manly man with convictions and strength and not some milquetoast metrosexual.

And don't forget, a modicum of intelligence and decorum.

Yes, those too. But decorum has its place and time.star_smile.gif

And my cat is plotting against me too. He's on my work notebook at the moment, looking at me grumpily and blocking me from doing any work.

My cat has been/is still plotting against me too. I have a ceramic piece of artwork that I brought back from Asia. Once a month, the cat will knock it over and break it. I then superglue it back together...and 30 days later the cat will break it again. The cycle repeats itself. This morning, I have superglued it again (it is beyond repair, but it is now me vs. cat!) and will now wait/watch for the cat's evil plot to play itself out again

Next time, fill it with marbles. Then, when the cat breaks it, it will scare the hell out of him. laughing.gif

Status update: 1 Diet Coke can't hurt, right? WFH today, got dragged into a call right after 9 and got done an hour ago. Stepped out to get a burger and now I'm drinking a can of caffeine.

1 is not going to kill you. Just don't have a second.
