Hey guys,

When a person suspects there has been an error with their recently submitted I-130 application (i.e. i believe i filled out the check incorrectly), is there a way to confirm with the USCIS that my application was rejected.. I can do a new packet in a jiffy, but I'd hate to lose uneccessary time.

Anywho going crazy waiting for the NoA1 (they got it on july 13). TheN i can sit back and just let the wait begin..

Any ideas guys?

Until the package is accepted the USCIS does not even know about you. You cannot check with them until a case # is assigned. Watch your bank account, that will be your first clue.

YMMV

did you add in that g-form thingie ??

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/256449-add-form-g-1145g-to-your-i-130-petition/

If the check was filled out incorrectly - one of two things will happen:

1. the clerk will use the 'DHS stamp' on the front, check goes through or

2. the entire submission is returned to you.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

So weird. Yes I filled out the g-form thingie.

To my knowledge I filled out the forms correctly. I followed the guides.. I just sent the package in three envelopes through USPS. I just worry because I have no clue as to whether the fact i wrote I-130 petition on the memo of the check turned out to be a mistake. I'd hate to just have a month spinning on my wheels when i can just fill everything out again and send it all in.

What I understand from your post is you wrote a wrong memo section in the check. If yes, it should NOT be a problem. They want just your right fee (money).

What is the correct thing to put in the memo section? I read the guides and did not see anything other than put U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

What should i have put?

Payable to, right fee, your sign and date are enough. You don't have to worry about anything. Some people will write memo in addition just for personal record, but it is optional.
