As I sort and view the advanced timeline for K1, I am focusing on "I-129F Mail to 1st NOA" and I see that many of these are like 1 or 2 days. Some are more, but most are within a week or so. I overnighted my paperwork to NSC on 8-1-06. USPS says they received it on 8-2-06. Its already 8-11-06 and I have checked my mail today.....A GREAT BIG NOTHING!!!

When you update your timelines are you putting the date of I-129F NOA1 from what is written on what you receive in the mail or the date you actually get something in the mail?

Because I'm checking the mail everyday with expectation and getting killed by the disappointment. How can you send it on one day and then have NOA1 the very next day?

YOU'RE KILLING ME HERE!!!

My stack of paperwork was almost 2 inches thick. I have so much proof that it should be a slam dunk. I shouldn't have to ask the freakin govt for permission to love and live with this perfect woman for me. It makes me want to sneak her in through Canada.

You don't think they read these forums do you?

It took 16 days between the time our package was received (according to FedEx) and the time they acknowledged the receipt. Hang in there.... it's a slow process, but a pretty solid process considering all the things involved.

Living in NE Romania with Fiance and her Son.

3-27-2006 I-129F Sent : to Nebraska Service Center

4-12-2006 I-129F NOA1 :

6-1-2006 Touched sort of...... sent to CSC (California Service Center) like many others

6-14-2006 CSC emailed me a notice of receipt of my 129f (transfered from NSC)

6-17-2006 Touched

7-3-2006 IMBRA RFE received at home

7-5-2006 Mailed IMBRA RFE back, Also my file was touched for the first time since 6-17

7-13-2006 Received email that IMBRA RFE was received by CSC

7-14-2006 Touched

8-10-2006 I-129F NOA2 APPROVED !!! (no touches before approval, as many have spoke of)

9-08-2006 NVC case approved:

: I started calling the NVC automated line about 2 weeks after NOA2. They never had any information for me or acknoledged that they received our case, so I sent an email to the NVC on 9-01-2006. On 9-08-2006 I received a reply to that email saying that our case was processed and forwarded to the US Embassy (Romania) on 8-31-2006. They also included the case number in the reply to my email inquiry. I guess I would have not been notified by the NVC..... very strange.

9-6-2006 Romanian Embassy received our K1 paperwork.

9-11-2006 Received packet 3 in the mail

10-11-2006 Set appointment for interview by calling the Romanian Embassy !!! ONLY SET AN APPOINTMENT AFTER HAVE ALL DOCMUMENTS ARE COMPLETE !!!

The NOA1 date is the received/receipt date on the NOA1. The date that they also stamp on the petition when they receive it.

Hang in there, yours will come. They are running up to 3-4 weeks in many cases at present in sending out the NOA1's.

With the processing times we are now seeing, do you think there is any possibility for Jennie to get her interview while I am in the Phils between 10/15 - 11/5?

That would be so cool to show up at the interview with her. I don't think there is any better proof than that.

And why are we having to prove this anyway? Who screwed this up for us? Why don't they put the restrictions on the back end instead of the front? I say if you're not serious about your relationship and you decide to divorce or whatever.....then the government can ship you back. You should be penalized when you mess up not when you are trying to be with the one you love and haven't done anything wrong but find the mate of your dreams. SHEESH!!!

Once your petition is approved it is sent off to the consulate via the NVC. The wait time for interviews in Manila are 4-6 months on average currently in themselves, so an Oct/Nov interview is out of the question Im afraid.

Can you check to see if your check was cashed? From reading other people's timelines, they got their NOA-1 a few days after that. My check was cashed on thursday, but i still haven't received the noa (I sent my stuff late on 07/28). Also if you can look at the cashed check (my bank lets me do it online), you can find your case number stamped on the back. That way you can register on USCIS's website for email updates, and start finding out when you get those lovely "touches." (who else has been singing that song from rocky horror -- you know "touch me touch me touch me touch me touch me, i wanna feel...."ok i'll stop there, this is family website! )

timeline doesn't matter.

Not the case!

I just mailed off our petition this morning, on the date of Craig and my 6th month anniversary.

You just have to prove having met in person within the past 2 years.

I sent my packet certified USPS on August 4th, and only got the certified mail receipt back today. It indicates Nebraska Service Center received our packet on August 8th and I don't have my NOA1 yet either.

For some odd reason, just getting the mail receipt back seemed like a milestone.

SHEESH!!!

why are we having to prove relationships? Erm, could you imagine the BS if we didn't? Easy way ticket into America....come on now....think about it. All you'd need is a willing USC to vouch for a person and then they're in?

The process is here for a reason, the wait sucks, but I believe in it.
