Do you think I needed to confirm?? I booked got confirmation, confirmation # and it even shows my DHL, I didn't need to go back and confirm??

I can just go tomorrow??

I'm a basket case (I am the US citizen) I need this to go smoothly.

How much earlier do you arrive from your appt time???

thank you

Deep breath.....you will be fine!

We arrived before 7 a.m (even though our interview letter said 8:30 a.m.) and were the third to enter (back in 2009) and were done by just after 9 a.m. From what I have read in the Canada forum it is still first come first serve.

Oh my ok, well I guess I will go early.

Thank you. I'm trying to stay calm.

My business needed me there last week, I'm trying to run it from here. Hubby needs it doen and settled too, he is getting nervous too just wants it over so he can go and resign.

Do you remember if there is a place to sit in the car and one of us wait on line. It's going to be snowing tomorrow.

What time did they let you in??

We walked from our hotel so I'm not sure about parking. I re-read my review (you can see it in my timeline on my profile) and we actually arrived at 7:10 and were let in by 7:35. Sending good vibes your way!

APPROVED YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

To all thank you. He said, "based on the information you provided I can say you are approved, here is your welcome letter".

I will do a review later today. My hubby wants to talk and plan our move.

Words don't seem enough just to say thank you for helping me through this. All of you are so nice and to those waiting, the best of luck and to everyone I wish only the best of the best life has to offer.

thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

I'll write later

Review. I'm not sure where to put it.

Appt was for 9am. Showed up at 7:30. One lady ahead of us. doors open just then and we can go in. They scan the coats, scarves, everything out of pockets, I took a small handbag, take off watch.

We got letter A. Went down the stairs, sat and waited by the elevator. Guard took us up. We sat and waited. Around 8:15 we got called. We were first to be called. Lovely lovely lady, so friendly. Patient, I had everything organized, took the stuff, gave us a paper to go and pay $404. Remember to bring US cash or a credit card if you haven't paid the final amount. Said to go sit back outside. Waited, got called again for fingerprints. Hubby is very tall and his fingers which she says happens frequently so she couldn't capture the prints and no prints no visa. I was so nervous at this point. I never thought that it's possible that could happen. She said don't worry, the officer usually gets them he will take them.

Got called to the officer, he took the prints, Hubby had to crouch down and there were a couple of tries but he got them as that was the biggest hurdle for us. He asked me what our wedding date was. I was so nervous I almost forgot. He asked when we plan to move, what hubby does for work, he was the nicest guy. So friendly. He reviewed all the papers we gave him. He reviewed everything, checklist, computer stuff. Gave us back our originals. We got back the x-ray too from the medical. We both had to raise our right hand and swear that all the info is true. Asked us routine questions, like if we have any kids etc. Just simple normal questions. Not to many. Then soon after, he said basied on the information you provided I can say you are APPROVED. He gave us the welcome letter and told us about the DHL pickup.

We were out at 9:10.

I'm so happy. I can go home. Really happy.

If you tell me where to put this I will be happy to put it in the review section.

Good luck to all those waiting to go. It's nerve wracking but the process is fairly quick if you are well organized and have everything.

Ok, I went to the website still nothing re picking up visa.

Does anyone know how long it takes??

I am assuming that if they said Approved and gave us the welcome letter it's a done deal???

Not to worry, you are approved. yes.gif

Might take a few more days for the DHL site to show anything. Have a read through this thread. It might be of some help.

Hi OBX, thank you, you have been so helpful. Truely.

That thread while helpful and great is getting me scared.

I booked the movers for Feb 15. hubby resigned from his job yesterday for Feb 11th. His job is unique and he is doing a transition and will remain as a consultant as need for 2 years so if things go well he will still be earning a decent wage till he finds new work but at least he has time.

What happens if they loose it or if it gets misplaced?? I'm in a state of panic. Not sleeping over this. If I get sick my doctors are in the USA, how will I cross without his passport.

I believe the latest batch of filers out of Montreal have been getting their passports back within 5-7days. If you read through this thread there are some posts a few pages back that talk about it.

Montreal Interview Timelines

Hang in there, I'm sure you will be okay for February 15th. Keep us posted.

Big Congratz to you Housewife...

I just mailed my 2nd medical to DHL as mine expired

This is New:

I was told to address the Montreal package to :

ATT'N IV UNIT

315 PLACE D'YOUVILLE SUITE 500

MONTREAL , QC H2Y 0A4

This is the New Address effective Jan 18, 2011

Did they moved physically or this is just the new address for letters

Considering that the embassy are screening letters this could possibly be for Incoming letters only

Anybody who mailed Letter to the embassy lately?
