Thanks for your encouragement, zen. :) I had hoped that when you got your July date, that we wouldn't be too far behind. :innocent:

Not so expeditious, eh? ;)

Thanks birdnerd...makes me feel less lonely lol. I emailed Montreal a long time ago with no response, and just emailed them again yesterday. Hope to get an answer this time. It's getting very frustrating for us..

Hi Dawn, and welcome to our thread. :)

Hard to believe you've been waiting 5 months for a 5-minute interview.

Montreal seems to be pretty expert at completely disregarding emails, so I wouldn't hold my breath. ;)

Don't know if you read the most recent IR-1 interview review, but it sounds like Montreal has started pulling in consulate retirees to help with the backlog (well, at least one), so that might signal good news. Not sure why DCF applications seem to be passed over consistently though...

Should the DOS have a record of my application? When I spoke to them 6 weeks or so ago they said they had no record of my application and to contact the Montreal consulate directly for an update (which we know is next to impossible). The reference number I have begins with MTL and I have never received anything from the DOS.

Hey superspur,

No, you won't receive anything from DoS, all they can do is see what is in the computer system in terms of any action the embassies/consulates have taken. In short, they can tell you *if* you have an interview date scheduled, but they are not part of the process. Indeed they should at least have you in the system. Do you perhaps mean you called NVC? Because they have nothing to do with DCF applications. When I call DoS, they ask for your case number (MTL...) and the beneficiary's name. Then they tell you that yes, your documents have been logged, everything looks good and yes, you are eligible for an interview, but no date has been scheduled yet. :bonk: Yeah, thanks, I know that, you've been telling me the same thing for months.

Try calling tomorrow (from 8-5 (except during lunch, I think it's 11-12), 202-663-1225, then press 1, then 0. If they tell you you're not in the system, then you definitely need to email Montreal pretty hard to find out what the situation is, because your DS-230 may not have made it to the consulate (Mtl).

Good luck!

Hey Lil, I'm not surprised. :( Something's gotta happen eventually.

I'm calling once a week, usually Friday. Frustrating, though.

Thanks, I was getting the 2 agencies mixed up. I will try the DoS tomorrow
