I am preparing my AOS/I-130 package and noticed here on the forum that some people get RFEs by email, I am hoping that I wont have any but in case I do, I think getting an email would be quicker.....but I dont see a place on any of the forms (130, 485, 325A, etc.) where I could give my email address.

How do people get contacted via email?

I think on the biographic form there's a question asking for an email address, but not sure...

We got our RFE by regular mail, but a day before I did sent them an email asking about my case status and they told me (1 hours later) they had a letter on the way asking for more information, but not exactly saying what. I think they don't like doing it via email, because they ask for their notice of RFE to be sent back in your reply (probably so they can make sure what was ask from whom) of course including the documents they have asked for. Probably makes it easier for them to get back to the file...

If you want them to send an e-notification when they receive your application, include a form G-1145 on top of your packet.

You can sign up for regular case updates via the USCIS website after you receive your receipt numbers, and you can select the email/text option for each case.

Good luck :)
