I filed in april and I already got my EAD and already had the interview last day which went awesome. Thing is my wifes parents are not aware of our marriage. Does immigration contact parents to after interviews to verify a bona fide marriage? They didnt ask for their addresses or their phone numbers or anything but i am wondering if this happens often.

thanks

In my interview for adjustment of status they asked us if we know our in laws, he did know my parents, but I didn't know his yet. They live in another state and my husband is not really close to them. I told the truth, immigration officer didn't ask me why I didn't know my in laws. If they asked you and you lied and they found out it my be a problem in the futuret. If they never asked and you never mentioned I do not think you might have any problems. But do not think that they do not have their address and phone number, because they do and you provided them this information in one of the forms. (I think I-130).

they never asked anything about inlaws, and we never lied in the interview, and it wouldnt be a problem if they found out, but we are waiting to get married by the church on october so they find out about our marriage. any ways we never put any address in the forms or phone numbers for inlaws.. so

They may or may not ask. If they ask be honest about it.

** moved from "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from Family Based Visas" to General Immigration Related Discussion as this isn't a question about the AOS process specifically, more a general Immigration question**

Like I said on my post. They did not ask, and we didnt lie. But after interview, is it usual for them to contact family members?
