Whats so great about the FAIR TAX? Generally speaking compared to today the majority of the tax burden would actually shift from the wealthy to the Middle Class. I just ran my own household income through it and my taxes jump by like 70%.

So I will assume the calc. I used was wrong or "slanted". What doesn't get taxed? I assume all food except alcohol is tax free? Insurance? Utilities? etc?

Can't get over all that whining about corporate income taxes. Loopholes, fancy accounting and elaborate paper constructs let GE arrive at $0.00 corp income tax liability to Uncle Sam while booking $10 billion in corporate profits. Half a billion loss in the US, of course, resulting in a 1.1 billion "tax benefit" booked into the earnings. Lower that rate to create jobs.
