police paper expiration

ok another question from me. we've jumped the gun and fiance got some police papers while i was visiting her in april.

How important is it that they be less than 6 months old at the interview? One police report says it expires in october 2010. i'd hate for her to have to reapply and spend more money for these documents.

late 2001 - Met online while using AOL buddy find wizard on a whim.

11/??/2008 - Got back in touch after a couple of years.

11/11/2008 - I always loved her, finally told her. Relationship started <3

10/14/2010 - Flew to Vancouver, Canada to meet her eldest brother.

10/15/2010 - Formally asked brother for his sister's hand in marriage.

10/17/2010 - Arrive back in U.S.

04/10/2010 - Flew to Beirut, Lebanon and met her for first time. Also met sister and mother.

04/25/2010 - Flew to Muscat, Oman to meet her other brother

05/02/2010 - PROPOSED on shore of The Gulf of Oman under the moon at night.

05/09/2010 - Arrived back in U.S. started making K1 packet

07/14/2010 - SENT OUT I-129F!!! to VSC

07/19/2010 - Check cleared (says Lewisville, Texas on back)

07/28/2010 - Touch

07/29/2010 - NOA1 arrives (recieve date 7/19/10, notice date 7/22/10)

10/03/2010 - Touch

12/25/2010 - Flew out to visit her over the holidays! (landed in Oman late evening 12/26/10)

01/08/2011 - Arrived back home. I miss her already very much.

02/01/2011 - Received approval (NOA2) text/email.

05/02/2011 - Received packet 3 (after pulling teeth in several emails.)

06-24-2011 - She turned in packet 3 in person.

07-09-2011 - Received packet 4

07-27-2011 - Interview! it went into administrative review for no reason and another appointment was scheduled.

08-03-2011 - Second interview. Wait for results.

08-16-2011 - Vague Email received telling her to pick up her K1 packet and passport.

08-17-2011 - APPROVED!!!She picked up her visa and it's in hand. :D

If the police records stipulate they are valid for 6 month and the interview is after the expiration date, is best to spent the money to obtain updated once rather than getting a RFE at the consulate. Please complete your timeline for better understanding of your process.. Good luck

i'd complete the timeline, but we are still working on the i129-f packet. we like to be ultra prepared but didn't realize police papers would have an expiration date. we are shooting for sending out the i129-f this monday (fingers cross) so excited yet somewhat frazzled!

It depends on the consulate's policy. The Romanian certificate is also valid for 6 months, but the embassy there accepts it for up to one year after it was issued.

OP: How difficult is it to obtain police certificates in the beneficiary's country? You could go ahead and get another PCC issued or you could contact the embassy in the beneficiary's country and ask about their policy on accepting PCCs.

Most consulates accept it for 1 year from the date issued... check with your specific consulate to be sure before you spend the $... do not rely on the validity date on the paper.. go by the consulate policy..

I checked the Moscow Embassy site and they do not specify any time frame for police reports. Has anyone had experience with police reports over 6 months old?

08/07/2009 - Began emailing every day

10/07/2009 - Meet in Moscow for one week

10/14/2009 - Informal Engagement

04/10/2010 - Stayed three weeks with her and family

06/23/2010 - I129F sent!!

06/28/2010 - After going to the wrong state (thanks USPS) arrived at CSC

07/06/2010 - NOA1 sent

07/10/2010 - Check Cashed and case touched

07/12/2010 - NOA1 received and case touched

07/14/2010 - Touched!

07/21/2010 - Touched!

11/23/2010 - Touched!NOA2

11/24/2010 - Text Notification Approval letter sent 11/23/2010

02/04/2011 - Interview APPROVED

02/09/2011 - Visa Recieved

02/21/2011 - Entery into US Wash DC

The police certificate is valid for ONE YEAR. For Ukraine, Kyiv embassy as of 5-2010



Met online Sep 26 2009


Traveled to Ukraine Jan 22 2010


Spent 33 wonderful days together


Returned to US Feb 25 2010


K1 filed March 2010


Sent to VSC 2010-03-06


Received 03-08


Check cashed 03-10


NOA 1 dated 03-11

Spending a week in Odessa and Kherson together 5-19-10 :)))))
