I have been seeing/hearing conflicting information about the validity of the K-1 visa after issue from the embassy/consulate.

I know the visa expires after 90 from the date of POE. But I am not sure the time limit from issue date and actual entry in US, if there is any? How long fiancee can stay in their native country before they have to leave?

Any ideas?

Some countries differ on visa validity. The standard for most countries is 6 months, however there is one country that I read of recently (don't ask me the name of it, the guys fiancee was heavily pregnant and due to give birth right on their deadline and he wanted her to give birth in her country), that issues visas valid only for the length of validity of the xray for tb (which is 6 months). So depending on how soon your visa is approved, versus how long ago you had your xray, it could be somewhere less than 6 months.

Once you arrive in the US your K1 visa is VOIDED. The expiry date on the visa is now useless. You have 90 days from the date of entry to marry your petitioner. You cannot marry anyone other than your petitioner. The 90 day deadline is stamped on the white I-94 that is stapled to your passport.
