Hi - My husband came to the US from Ireland on a K-1 Visa in 2008 & is currently in the process of removing conditions from his permanent residency.

He is an independent contractor (consultant). Is he allowed to accept contracts from both the US & Ireland/EU or is working in Ireland while he is on a K1 a violation of his visa terms? He would still maintain residency here with me, but may be abroad for several weeks at a time working.

If someone could direct to me to where I can find this in writing in the Visa paperwork that would also be very much appreciated!

I may be wrong and others who know more will definitely correct me, but if he's already a conditional LPR, he's no longer "here on a K1". He just needs to avoid staying away so long that it raises any suspicion of abandoning residency. Several weeks away, especially for work, would seem to be OK to me.

Anyone else's thoughts?

does he have greencard in hand ?

if so, is no concept of 'k1 visa violation'

maybe is some confusion between 'LPR greencard expiring soon' and 'File for ROC' ???

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

As long as he maintains residency its fine.

Yes - he does have a greencard so from everyone's responses it sounds like he should be good. Thanks for the help!
