Upcoming AOS Interview, please advice?

Dear VJs,

Our AOS Interview is fast approaching and I'm wondering if I can solicit advice from those who had experience it.

By the way, to have a brief information, I entered US through K1 Visa, got married and filed AOS.

In terms of documents to prove residency, we've got the following:

1. Bank Joint Account

2. House Lease Agreement (we are sharing and renting accommodation with my in-laws, my in-law own the house)

3. Pictures

Are these documents will suffice?

*Cellphone Bill or any other house bill can't present cause it is on my in-laws name. Giving also in consideration that I've been here in US for almost 3 months so I can't purchase or credit anything.

*My husband got a temporary position at work, so he got no Medical Insurance so we can't also provide that document.

Any advice on what else we can provide at the moment?

If you kept any cards saying Congrats! regarding the wedding, take those. Any other wedding stuff showing close friends and family attended or are wishing you well would be great.

If you've been on a long distance for a while, print out emails if you have any. I don't know if you have time to get a state ID card, but if you do, get one cos it shows where you live and it's a plus to have.

Have a lot of evidence of your relationship. I brought some pictures and my interviewing officer said he was looking for one with both me, my husband and members from family. Good thing I had a few!

Also, they will ask you the basic questions like, when did you meet, when did you start dating, whos idea was it to get married, why did you married him/her, what are your occupations? Stuff like that. Make sure you bring copies of everything!!!! Be over prepared.

Hi,

I dont know how long your husband been working at his company, but Letter of Employment from his employer states that he is really an employee there and also his paystubs??

This was my experience because we brought pile of evidences and the IO only took my husband's letter of employment and the paystubs, so just telling you that.

We didnt have Health insurance either that time.

And of course be well prepared with the answers for the questions

1- Letters (affidavits) from friends, parents and family stating they know you and know you are a bonafide couple. (They just have to write their full name and address and how they know you plus a small message about how they know you are together and perhaps examples of things they have done with you two together).

2- Photos of you together and with family and friends: bring as many as you can an entire photo album if you can this works better than anything.

3- Phone bills (even in parent's names) that show somehow you call each other when he's at work for example.

4- Magazine subscriptions that show both your names and your current address (you can still subscribe now and get at least a few in the mail before the interview).

5- As others suggested any emails, birthday cards, anything you exchanged bring it. Have friends and family send you a few letters in both your names. Take the envelopes.

6- Dress up nicely for the interview and if possible match your clothes to your spouse's (for example blue dress for the husband's blue shirt or tie) This shows you chose your clothes together.

Relax, they are good people for the most part and are not after getting you.

We started a blog. We posted what we were up to every day, with pictures. It was a couple hundred pages or so by the time we marched in there to the interview. The interviewer loved that. She only took a few pages.

She was really pregnant when we went in there too.
