We are on a K-1 journey. We got the NOA2 about a week ago, and we were so happy. At the time I was in the States with Tim, planning on staying until August 3.

Then last Tuesday I got a call to come back early because my sister had taken a turn for the worst (end stage cancer) and I had to get home as soon as possible. I arrived at the hospital on Friday, and she passed away within half an hour. She was heavily sedated but she knew me and my brother and her husband were there. Her husband said she waited for us, and that she chose the time to go.

So now I have alot on my plate with tying up things here, and I probably will not be able to return to the States before I get my interview date. I miss Tim and my new home so badly, but I am torn between there and here at the moment. My place right now is here of course, but wow......what a mixture of emotions.

Oh Erin... *HUGS* I'm so sorry this is happening to you all at once. I would definitely suggest taking all the time you can in Canada and spend it with your family and friends there. I know you miss Tim and your 'new home', but remember you have the rest of your life to spend there. It must have been hard to come back so early, especially for such a tragic reason, but time will fly by. I hope that you get a quick interview from Montreal. Hang in there.

I am sorry for your loss. Yes, you have a lot of things going on, but once they are done, you can start your new life with no regrets. The first year is the hardest, and you will always miss your sister (at least I do, and she passed in 1996). But it does get less difficult as time goes by. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

On the bright side, your are fortunate that you got to be there with your sister and that you got to spend time with your family in Canada before you move. So treasure all those moments that you had/have together, enjoy time with your family, and take time to heal too.
