This is a common mis-perception

All humans have rights in the U.S.A and these are recognized by the 14th amendment. I was told that as an Alien, I had no right to own a firearm in Washington State but the NRA took it to court and the court said that an Alien like me has equal rights under the 14th - and so now I have 7 firearms.

For instance it would be illegal to kneel an illegal immigrant and shoot them in the back of the head - that is because they DO have rights and it isn't just police regulations.

I have noticed that the most nationalistic of Americans are also those who don't know their own constitution

If I was being pelted with big stones by a large crowd then I would feel justified in firing a warning round followed by an aimed round if necessary.

If some kid was throwing pebbles at me, I would not feel justified in firing

The investigation will have to determine which one of these was the case

In addition to this, I would have thought that common decency and the highly probable professed religion of people in this country would not lead to people saying that a fellow human had no rights and could be killed

No rights indeed - that phrase makes my blood boil !

Let's wait for the enquiry and some facts...

First off, the fact that you were allowed to own firearms......you were here legally. I'm sure a background check to see that you weren't an illegal came up.

Secondly, could you tell me what rights someone has that's trying to jump the border line?

Border Patrol know the intentions of illegals...get a job & make money, get good health care, all while paying nothing back to the country. Illegals have NO rights to any of those.

You don't have a right to get a job and make money either. Nor do you have a right to health care.

You do have the right to freely assemble, speak your mind, bear arms against tyranny.

Know your rights because if you don't, no one is gonna come over to tell you.

...look at the number of US Police killed and then tell me that American policemen are safer because of all their guns. They are dying in droves and their 'protection' is no protection.

Yes, a stick would work much better.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

why only six years? what were the activities?

Long story as to why I left but I sure wasn't fired.

I decided to find a job where I could work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday and be surrounded by attractive young women and have lots of money and fly Concorde and drive a top end Mercedes. I did.

I still have my badge here beside me on my speakers though. I wonder if that makes me a thief ?

Would you agree ?

Come on, let see your true colors.

How about we hate on the people from Belarus and Canada for a bit, huh? So you know, unless you are a Navajo, Sioux, Apache, etc. odds are you are immigrants or descend from them (even illegals).

You can hate on Belarus all you want for all I care. My relatives got enough of that here in the USA during the Cold War and by the Germans during the Nazi occupation. So cry me a river. Are we in a pissing contest over who is more of a victim in this world? I'd venture to say Belarusians have had a worst go of it than Mexicans ever had by a long shot.

And...again...this is the 21st century and American Indian policy of the 18th and 19th centuries are totally irrelevant to illegal immigration issues in modern America today. That lame comparison to illegal immigration is just that...lame and irrelevant.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

If anyone was threatening an enforcement officer with bodily harm, the officer can/will use force as he sees fit.

If this was an American in a confrontation with local authorities, it may have had the same outcome.

I don't think 'as you see fit' is in the Police regulations or the law. The circumstances under which Police can kill people is much tighter drawn than that.

If a citizen shouts at an officer "Get off my lawn or I will kick your butt", the officer has been threatened with physical harm but no way is that enough for him to kill the householder without being tried for murder.

I agree. These cliches about how "we're a country of immigrants" / "my great-grandfather came from Ireland with just a shirt on his back" / "unless you're a Native American, you're all immigrants" is getting real old, real fast.

Some of you need to wake up and realize that it's not the early 1900s anymore.

i got the time.:) what were the activities you refused to join in?

It started low level - they only called out certain tow companies to crashes. When the tow truck arrived they went round a corner and the officer got a cash payout. I said no to that.

I got my car caked in cac for not being supportive and for being a possible informer

Then when they got called to shop burglaries, they were pocketing stuff from the crime scene

It was widespread. Eventually, the whole shift went to jail, the whole force got shut down and another force took over. One of the officers kept being the foster parent to a string of 15 to 17 year old girls and he was getting a lot of extra money for it. Looking back I am pretty sure he was messing with em all.

I had already resigned but married the daughter of a sergeant in the new force and rejoined the new force which was 99% honest at least as far as money and property was concerned.

I am very pro Police but I demand full accountability and nobody gets a free pass to beat a kid up or mess with the girls or kill without reason.

Not holding Police to account is the quickest way to make it like that first force I served in. Intensive fair supervision is the only way to stop the rot setting in.
