I don't think you realize how unpopular Bush is/was in the UK from 2003 onwards.

McCartney has been outspoken in the past. Remember "Big Boys Bickering", the protest song?

Besides, Bush himself made fun of his poor grades in college when he said at a commencement once "To the C students, I say, you too can be President of the United States one day!"

you have love these people who "demand" apologies for things like this. McCartney isn't an elected official, nor is he running for office - it's safe to say that noone really gives a toss about the outrage of some grandstanding idiot politician.

I tend to agree with Madhouse to some degree here.

1st and foremost Paul Mcartney needs to tuck his head back into the UK and stick to music where is is at least half way talented; then maybe he can look into his own house and understand it's flaws.

For a politician to give the stupid remark any credit especially from an outdated musician with no political credibility is rather stupid on the politicins part.
