AOS Interview in Miami

Hello Everybody!

We had our AOS interview today in Miami. The interview was scheduled to 9 a.m. Thanks for a tip from another VJer that had his interview in Miami also, we knew exactly where to park and for Free! Just in case someone needs to know also: when you're heading south on Biscayne Blvd and passed the Immigration building, turn left on 76th St and make a right at 6th CT - there you can park for free and it's not far from the immigration building.

Well, we were in the line for security check at 8:40. Waited a little bit and passed through security - no cell phones w/ cameras are allowed! We went to the 4th floor and handed our interview letter to an officer that checked if our A number was on the list of interviews. He found our number and wrote the hour we arrived on our interview letter - 8:55.

Then we went to the waiting room and left our interview letter w/ the recepcionist. We were there for like 10 or 15 minutes and an immigration officer called us. He took my husband and I to his room and the interview began. He was very professional and nice!

He asked for ours ID's and my passport. Then we took the oath and he started to ask some questions like:

- if my husband was a citizen (he asked to see proof)

- when we got married (he asked for our marriage certificate)

- how we first met

- proof that we were living together (we had our bank statement, my name on my husband's insurance plan and on his life insurance and photos)

- medical exam - I-693

- he asked me if I have ever been arrested

- asked my social security number

- my birth certificate and translation

- asked where I was born

- and our address

He had our file w/ him and he went through it while talking w/ us. Then he took a look at our photos. At the end he said everything was fine except that my name is pending on FBI check.... he said that after he receives this information I'll be notified and this can take from 2 days up to months.

After he finished I handed to him the other letter that I received last week from USCIS w/ another interview date, he took the letter and wrote on it that we already had our interview and said that everything was ok!

After all I can say that our interview was really smooth, no complications at all, except for the FBI name check, but I have my EAD card and my AP in hands, so I just need to wait for the Green Card now and hopefully it will come soon!
