it depends on what's wrong with the documents.

If you have filled the correct amount in the cheque and signed the application form they'll just go ahead and cash the cheque and send the documents off to be checked.

If you're missing something, or have forgotten something they will send you an RFE (request for further evidence) or an RIE (Request for Initial Evidence). They're basically the same thing except the RIE is something that had to be sent with the package but you forgot, say like a copy of the visa or something.

Typically as long as the cheque is correct then they won't send anything back, they'll cash the cheque and then process the packet and ask you for what's missing/needed

If something is wrong, package and check will be returned to you.

No it won't. Please read my answer above.

Hey guys I just got a couple of emails and couple of text messages saying they receive our application and they will send it to the center, but check hasn't been cash yet. Is this normal procedure ?

Thanks

Your cheque is probably being cashed as we speak. You will receive NOA1 which is your receipt of payment. Stress less.

Check hasn't cash yet and I'm little worried because I wrote with letters diferent amount that show with numbers. Bank said it might not be cash, so I think I will get a diferent response ?

Thanks

Ummm hmmm well usually if the cheque's wrong they'll return the package so that's strange... and you might not KNOW its being cashed. I didn't know for a couple of days but the cash date was the same as my NOA1 receipt.

Or maybe they will try to cash the check once arrive on the National Benefit Center for processing. Who knows let's see what happen.

Thanks

Yes and no. Review the pinned topic in the K-1 forum.

Your package gets a quick initial review upon arrival. They check for signatures and correct payment, that is all. If the signatures are not there, the payment is not there, or the payment is in the wrong amount, they will return the entire package with a "REJECT" notice. You correct the problem and send it back.

If something else is missing, you will get an RFE in the future, maybe many months from now. If the package is rejected it will usually come back within 2-3 weeks. If it is OK, the check will usually go through your bank in 10 days or less.
