I'm seeing a lot of paranoia and anti-governomentism among many people. Seriously, what's wrong with the government pointing out incorrect information and pointing the way to more accurate information. Like it or not, online, people spread a whole slew of misinformation about everything from the jesus-like benefits of acai berry juices to get rich quick to silly conspiracy about Reptoids. I think it's a welcomed change for the government to finally realize that these misinformations harm the country and its citizens. This is no different than the president of a country coming on TV and giving a speech to inform the citizen of some thing.

Except for the fact the government in many cases is the one spewing the misinformation for their own benefit.

The problem is the government will attack the 'people' yet ignore network/cable network tv news stations who do this on a consistant basis.

It's the citizens' duty to hold the government accountable to the constitution/laws of the country. Isn't cable network countered by the likes of C-SPAN, public radio, etc. At least I thought Voice of America, C-SPAN, etc were place where one could go to get the official news.

No it is not the same thing.

The President holds press conferences and now School House meetings to lay out his agendas or cover important issues he must make a decision on. Propaganda possibly but it ties the Presidency, it's administration and politcal demographics to those agendas and decisions.

Paid employees spouting what would be considered propaganda is no different than tax payer money going to propgate the political views of what ever administration is in power. Correct information most likely but definitely twisted in a manner to propagate the administration in power.

Next you would have the NIP (National Internet Police) that would be tracking IP signatures for posts considered a crime for miscommunicating information that may be wrong but definitely disapgrees with the propaganda being spread.

Careful what you wish for it is not only the tax dollar that will be taken from us to fund this #######. You will see people on both sides of the fence yelling "Hold on there Spanky".

Point in case I may be wrong but Charles and "Paul and Vanessa" are not usually on the same side of a political discussion (sorry if this is wrong)

A lot of these forums and political blogs do that actually and that's what bothers the government.

Where mainstream media outlets nitpick, the political blogs a lot of times have the real story (along with C-Span coverage) to back it up.

Now there's bad fish in the sea out there on all sides, but when it comes down to it, the bigger sites have legitimate coverage and more detailed than you'll ever find on the evening news.

C-Span is raw live coverage, but most people won't watch it unfortunately.

And NPR? I hardly call a government funded entity necessarily unbiased/uncensored.
