Hello all, this is my first post, I have been trolling a while and finding the search function useful, therefore I have not needed to post anything ... until now.

My question is in relation to this chart.

http://www.visajourney.com/examples/NVC_Process_Flowchart_v1-2.pdf

I have a lawyer, and I have already completed a form i-864 (myself along with my cosponsor), and I have attached all the correct forms to it. I have also completed the DS-320 forms.

I just received my NOA-1 notice yesterday, so this step is currently a bit of a ways away. My lawyer is out of town, other wise I would ask him, but my main question is what will the NVC process look like for me? Because I have already completed these forms, is the process likely to be shorter with the NVC? Also, is it likely my lawyer as already sent these papers with my application, or will he send it when it reaches the NVC.

Thanks.

Adam

The I-864 and DS-230 (to be completed and signed by the foreign spouse, not the USC) probably weren't sent with the I-130. There's no use for them at this point.

No, having the documents prepared now will not change the process for you. You will still go through all of the steps. Check out LingChe in the Wiki. The benefit to you is that you don't have to waste time gathering the documents when the time comes, but it doesn't change how NVC will process your case.

preparing the documents beforehand is a very good idea but that doesn't mean NVC will process ur case any faster.

i had prepared everything and the moment both bills (IV/AOS) became available i sent the documents in express mail. i know that ppl who wait 'till their approval letter to prepare all the documents or they mail in the stuff really late end up making their process late. depending on the ppl ahead of me, my documents will b processed.

so if u have everything prepared i would say that it'll take about a month in NVC process and month and a half if u get any RFE's.

most likely, u'll get ur NOA2 in july or august, and that's an average rate ppl get approve but it can take longer or shorter. good luck!!!!

best advice is to get your police cert as soon as you get your NOA2!!

so you are ready to send it to the NVC once you get to taht stage!

right now you just wait and wait and wait for NOA2

good luck!
