I was just wondering how the process is carrying on for those of you that have sent in your I-129s to the Nebraska Service Center. Mine was sent in on the 21st of July and still havent heard anything. I guess cuz Im also in Ethiopia I feel kind of distant from the offices there.

Thanks for your help.

It's been taking a month or more for people to get their NOA1s... much different than before the IMBRA legislation.

You can also expect that your case will be transferred to California. Nebraska is no longer processing K-visas but the paperwork still says that they should be sent there....

You might check with your bank to see if your check was cashed... that might give you an indication of when to expect your NOA1.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

When you send any documents to USCIS, NVC, it is better to send them with a delivery confirmation or any tracking method. That way, you can aleast know that they have received it.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Why is this???

All petitions sent to Nebraska and Texas are now forwarded to California service Center. Vermont and California are only centers working I-129F petitions.

You still mail it to the center listed on the instructions for your local, but they then forward it to CSC or VSC

Why is this???

Because they stopped processing I-129Fs in Nebraska supposedly to make each center a specialist in a particular visa type and improve efficiency and processing (HAH!)

Why didn't they change the form or instructions? Because that would take a committee of people to requisition supplies so they can create a new form with a new address or a request for permission to remove the Nebraska address from the instructions and from the website - that then has to go into the budget review which only happens on alternate years when there is a full moon on Thursday that falls on the sixth of the month . . . so it will be quite some time until they are able to take care of this . . .

Or alternately, it's USCIS and this is the kind of ####### they do . . .
