House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), along with a delegation of Congressional Democrats, is in Afghanistan Saturday, where they met with U.S. forces and were briefed by U.S. Ambassador Karl Eikenberry and General Stanley McChrystal.

Joining the speaker on the trip are four Democratic women: Reps. Susan Davis (Calif.), Madeleine Bordallo (Guam), Niki Tsongas (Mass.) and Donna Edwards (Md.). No Republicans are in the delegation.

The group also met with President Hamid Karzai.

"We are grateful for the service of our brave men and women in Afghanistan, for their commitment to America's security, and their unwavering dedication to their mission," Pelosi said in a statement.

Sunday, the delegation will be in Kabul, where they will meet with U.S. troops, and also with Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the country's leader.

Knowing how most Afghan men feel about women, I doubt Pelosi and the delegation are going to get much except scorn behind the scenes.

The leader of Afghanistan isn't al-Thani.

She's ugly enough to scare bin Laden out of hiding.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

The leader of Afghanistan isn't al-Thani.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani became the new Emir of the State of Qatar on June 26, 1995, continuing the rule of the Al-Thani family that began nearly two centuries ago.

I just copy and paste them. I don't rewrite the misleading copy.

i like pelosi because i think america needs the far far left and the far far right, but her in afghanistan makes me sick.

in 2006, the takeover of congress by the dems was played out on an anti-war platform and her she is in afghanistan.

since 2006, she has done absolutely nothing to end any wars.
