NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The victim might have forgiven the woman who ran him down in a Massachusetts crosswalk, but police haven't.

Police say a Pittsfield woman has been cited for running down a man named Lord Jesus Christ as he crossed a street in Northampton on Tuesday.

The 50-year-old man is from Belchertown. Officers checked his ID and discovered that, indeed, his legal name is Lord Jesus Christ. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor facial injuries.

Police say 20-year-old Brittany Cantarella was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I'm actually surprised someone was allowed to name their child that - or that he was allowed to change his name to "Lord Jesus Christ'.

"Lord Jesus Christ" is actually quite innocent for a name.

The non-religious would shrug or chuckle but the idiot fringe of those

who have a very narrow view of religion might think of breaking the

"thou shalt not kill" commandment.

Actually separation of church and state makes anything technically construed

by some as "sacrilege" to be officially a non-issue. Enforcing any notion of

sensitivity to scacrilege would launch lawsuits in spades.

This "crazy train" of thought actually raises the question of what

would the government do if parents named their kid after something

they heard on the "Osbournes" while under the influence of drugs or alcohol...blush.gif
