Marriage Fraud - Immigrant petition

I have just been informed by my state senator’s office that Accra consulate has suspended visa interview for immigrant petition due to a reported incidents of marriage fraud involving immigrant petition. Honestly, I due respect any measures the consulate has implement to verify the authenticity of each individual cases they receives. Nevertheless, I strongly disagree to fact that genuine cases are paying for some dubious act commented by certain unscrupulous people in our society. I think we need to let our voice be heard regarding this bizarre policy. I've contacted my my senator and he working to get a resolution to this. The consulate doesn't feel the pain we are going through so we better do something about this.

My wife's case was completed at NVC on December 2, 2009. Could someone tell me how long it would take for her to be schedule for an interview at Accra consulate?

If you've got a 'case in play', you might want to call NVC and get confirmation on this.

If its immigrant visas then it would only be for that.

Fiance visas are non-immigrant.

Also can an embassy completely stop issuing visas like that??? I guess we know why there is a 6 month wait now!

I know that certain countries have a bad rap but I seriously doubt they could just stop processing visas. The could add lots of extra checks but to totally stop?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

i just talk to nvc and they say they heard nothing about stopping interviews in ghana

I was doing da Google for 'Visa Bulletin Ghana' and didn't come up with anything pertinent.

at this point, it feels like someone is misleading us with very cancerous information...we are already broken hearted as it is to add this, please make sure your info is 110% when you drop it here..VJ'ers dont play..i'll pull your card

I don't take any favour in reporting cancerous information as you may think. This an infortmation coming to me from a credible source. You can choose to believe or choose not to believe alright!!
