We sent in a copy of the "certified" copy with the application but the lawyer said it is important to bring the originals of all of those docs. I;m so stressed right now, have all my docs spread out on the floor and feel like I have no clue what I have to bring.

I have so much from my F1, H3 and H1B (that I never got) visas and by now I just think i will take whatever I can find, and won't worry too much about the previous immigrations stuff. They should have it all already anyway.

We don't have a printer at home so I will have to go to a Kinkos (closest one 30 min away) and print and make copies and I'm not sure what I need to bring copies of. I'm sending 60 photos to CVS to have them print them during the weekend..... :girlwerewolf2xn:

Yeah, I bought a printer because of this process. Went through 2 toner cartridges. wacko.gif Photos don't come out real good on it, though, even though they are supposed to. I just took about 20 of my wedding photos and 1 of us and the kids.

Yeah I guess it will be about the same cost if I buy a printer...will need one for my do-it-yourself wedding invites anyway. Might do that, just go to Walmart for folders, a printer and pick up photos at CVS.

Leigh Ann, I went to the lawyer's office yesterday and they gave me copies on everything they sent in with the application. He said we shouldn't need it since they should already have it but you never know with USCIS. He told us that here in the south some IOs are on a power-high and just want to make you feel little, but most of them are nice (in regards to interracial couples etc.).

Then we had the mock interview and it was fun!! He went through everything from swearing and the No, No, No questions (hubby got offended by some of them...like Have you ever been a prostitute? He told my lawyer "that's my wife they will be asking that, it upsets me". Needless to say, he has never gone through any USCIS processes before, I'm kind of used to it). We could ask almost all the questions, except for when he asked my husband how much my car payment is, bc I have never told him I think. I had the car when we met and have just kept paying on it, almost done now though.

He said we had okay evidence for just being married for 6 months, but if we could get some more then we should. There is not really any time left so I will go with what we have. He didn't think we would have any problems and that we should be out of there in about 10 min so he didn't see the need for him to come with us to the interview. Sorry, this was long...but I promised I would come back and tell you :luv:

Thanks for the report back! That is good to know re: interracial couples. :) I'm glad the lawyer said that it didn't seem as though you would have any issues. Hope that relieves some anxiety before the interview. Don't stress - I'm sure it's going to be a breeze!

Congrats to everyone on the progress!

I made copies of all the originals that I brought to the interview. So all of my proof of marriage/relationship, all that joint account, health insurance papers.. I brought the originals and copies as well. I just thought it would save some time during interview. If the IO wanted to add something to our file, he/she wouldn't have to go make any copies because I had them ready. Of course our IO took nothing from us other than my I-94. But I wanted to be prepared just in case.

btw.. I bought a printer just so I could do our DIY invites too! Of course the printer has come in quite handy during this whole immigration process too!

Does your hubby have a US passport? That would be an acceptable proof of his citizenship too, I think..

The proof docs they can keep if they want, I do most of our stuff paperless anyway. And, yes he is bringing his US passport, but our lawyer said to bring the original birth certificate as well. I really wish we didn't have to bc we have to drive to Louisiana to get it

Thanks 1500528! I did use the free prints at CVS, of course they screwed it up though and the photos were not ready when I got there and no one could find them online either (stuff like this always happens to me). The next day they called and said they had fixed the problem, I had already sent all the photos to Walmart so I'm going to pick them up today and buy an album.

Thanks! I'm liking the star, though Felipe's many thumbs were very cool as well ;) Lawyers told us to not worry about the original birth certificate and worst case scenario if they will ask for it we'll have to come back with it. His dad is sending it express to us, but we won't get it before we have to leave tomorrow morning.

Also, dang I'm discovering so many mistakes, I should have filled out everything myself instead of hiring a lawyer! I don't know if you guys remember but in the very beginning of this process, I was nervous that the lawyer only sent the 2008 tax return for my co-sponsor? Well, they checked and told me no, they sent the 2009 and I asked again if they were sure and they said yes. Well, he gave the copies on what they sent in the other day, and looky looky NO 2009 tax return (even thought they had written that it was included on the cover letter). We never got a RFE for this, so should I not bother trying to get it from my co-sponsor? Again, we live in the country now so everyone is a hassle to get to.

Yeah, after the CR-1 process, I learned to fill out all forms myself, there were so many mistakes by the lawyer's flunky. We never sent in a 2009 tax return either, and never got an RFE (although others did). I took it to the interview, and she never asked for it. Sigh. It is so hard to tell what you need and what you don't. I recall something in my interview letter (which I forgot to take a photocopy of DAMMIT) that suggested I did need to bring it, though.

Yeah it says to bring the form I-864 (affidavit of support)including the supporting docs. if not already submitted. I don't know what to do, my co-sponsor lives 1.5 hrs from us and she is working during the days. She can't scan and email it to me and I don't have a fax....aaargh!!

But you didn't send all that already?

Trust me if you already send they don't need they check on the sponsor before the interview and if the need something the send an RFE on my interview they didn't even say nothing about sponsor or my wife's income .

I read on some post that the IO told to a couple to not worry about that kind of stuff they do enough check on the paperwork before the interview stage .

Relax and focus on been yourself with your hubby that's what the interview is for ok!?! ;)

We sent everything except for 2009 tax return. Because the lawyer told me that they had it and they had sent it, but they never did. They sent the W2 for 2009 & 2008 and the tax return for 2008. On the cover letter the lawyer said they included the 2009 tax return as well but they never did, so I guess USCIS missed that or didn't care. We never got a RFE for it.
