Why not? Hangings used to be public events. Sounds like a good idea. Get some advertisers, make some money.

It's not about "success and failure" as a deterrent, it's about freeing up space, reducing costs, etc.

Either that or we can do something along the lines of "Escape from New York" and make one big area a prison where people fend for themselves, and the only funding that goes into it is the guards watching the wall surrounding it.

Anything to at least reduce that $40+ billion a year of our prison system.

So, from your point of view Capital Punishment is about saving money, freeing up space and providing a more 'humane' punishment than a lifetime behind bars? You have no qualms about turning the whole thing into a media entertainment event and would quite like it if the US created a 'thunderdome' type zone to dump prisoners in?

How many people do you think should be executed annually, or indefinitely kept in these interesting conditions? I can't imagine anyone having lived in the prison zone would ever be fit for rehabilitation in normal society..

I am beginning to think you spend rather too long playing annihilation style video games ;)

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I can hear the chanting now: "two men enter, one man leaves"

Well, young Paul is not exactly the best choice of people to debate the success or failure of Capital Punishment. Clearly as far as he is concerned the US is a somewhat namby pamby liberal entity in terms of its treatment of suspects and prisoners. Any failure of Capital Punishment is down to our being too ready to commute sentences, allow endless appeals and conducting them infront of a strictly limited audience. I am sure he would favour immediate execution on sentence and perhaps some TV linked reality live show?

Well, he should consider China, then. They still do pubic executions with shots to the neck. Or perhaps public stoning to death would be more to his liking - I'd suggest Somalia for that attraction. For the sake of the evolved population, I'd rather not see this ####### pop up in the neck of the woods.

I like where Paul is going with this..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Have you ever noticed that in most Nazi propaganda Jews were listed as just that "filthy Jews"

Really think about the German population in the late 30's. Many honestly believed that the Jews were harming the economy and Germany as a whole.

Indeed. The Eternal Jew, anyone?

One of the shots early in the film shows a pack of rats emerging from a sewer, juxtaposed with a crowd of Jews in a bustling street of a Polish city. Close-ups of individuals show sickly, malformed facial features. The narration says that, as rats are the vermin of the animal kingdom, Jews are the vermin of the human race and similarly spread disease and corruption. Unlike rats, however, the narrator continues, Jews have the uncanny ability to change their appearance and blend into their "human hosts."

I like where Paul is going with this..

For aguy boasting about first world countries, you're devolving rather quickly. There are nice caves to be had in the Afghan region. Basement bargain prices, I hear. Public executions, gruel and bloody come as freebies with those. You should consider.

That goes without saying.

It's quite amusing how you guys burst blood vessels over the possibility of discrimination in the process of enforcing the law, yet see gangs, violence and crime caused by these particular people as simply collateral damage of a free society; better yet, 'well citizens do it too'. Talk about priorities being azz backwards. Can we as legal immigrants commit crime and get a free pass?

I'm not bursting anything, least of all blood vessels - keep going with the 'people like me' and giving any kind of criminal a free pass stuff, it's hilarious.

I forgot, this is Viisa Journey, where you can advocate the mass killing of illegal immigrants, but god forbid you call one of the VJ members a wanker!:thumbs::thumbs:

One group is criminal. The other is not. Most don't have sympathy for the criminals. ;)
