Good Evening all,

So I called the automated number, and it said my case was completed. So I called and spoke to an agent, and they explained to me that they are awaiting for a an appointment date to be assigned in order to send the documentation to the Embassy. They stated I will receive an email. It's been a week, I would like to know if there is anything I can do to be proactive. Any response will be greatly appreciated.

Gather all of your evidence for the interview and send it to your SO.

Are you going to the interview, too? I think it would be a good idea. If not, write a letter explaining why you're unable to make it and detailing the course of your relationship. Are there any potential red flags? Address them here.

Go over the forms you submitted. Does anything need to be updated? Check the I-864. Did you use your 2009 tax information? If not, update it now. Same for your joint sponsor, if you're using one. Double check the DS-230 questions. The form was updated recently. Make a new one using the form from the website and have your SO sign it and take it to the interview.

Is there any of your SO's belongings you can send now? Maybe winter clothes or little knick knacks. Start sending them now and you can use the cheapest postal service option. You know... the one that takes 2 months to arrive.

As for knowing your actual interview date, the NVC schedules interviews during the Second Week of Every Month. The next round starts May 10th for June interviews.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck!

What Bear wrote. Since it's Colombia - you should really check out the interview threads for the Consulate. It's my understanding that they're a$$wipes. Forewarned is forearmed.

Do we have any examples of it? I don't know where to start? :innocent:
