Hello,

Our case is still under AP review but when I contacted the USCIS office they informed us, "case is being reviewed internally with the Consular Section, XXXX for visa issuance."

Does anyone know what "internally" means? How long can it take now before the issuance of visa? We have been in AP since 28th March 2010.

Thanks.

Internal AP can be a lot of different things. The embassy can be doing something as simple as checking your paperwork...or they can be doing a field investigation. It is hard to tell because they don't let you know what it is that they are looking at.

Mandatory AP is different...that is name checks in Washington DC.

I hope you hear some good news soon.

Waiting.....Waiting....waiting....waiting....and more waiting..........

We were informed by USCIS that the file was sent back but there seem to be some miscommunication between the Consulate and Embassy in regards to my wife illegal presence. However, if my spouse was present for less than 180 days, does this still need approval from USCIS?

"ARMANI KHAN" you can probably contact your Consulate for the best updated results. Which is your USCIS office? You can try calling your local USCIS office to get update but it might be hard to get through. Best of Luck.

Do you really mean USCIS ? Or you mean DOS ? Its my first time to know that you can check on your case status by calling USCIS .I just know that you should call DOS !

If its still USCIS How can we call them ? Can you give me the number ? What do you ask them when you call them ?

Thank you so much .

I am not sure in regards to your CIS offices. You should contact your local Embassy to get contact information for the CIS office under your jurisdiction. The CIS office will provide you with the same information that the Embassy will but just might be able to tell you if your file is at the officers table yet or not. Hope it helps.

I actually did mean the DHS/USCIS office.
