I just got a Biometrics appointment letter for my EAD, but I've already done Biometrics for the AOS. Do they usually get you to do two separate biometric appointments? I assumed it would be the same. In fact I got two identical "notice of appointment" letters for the EAD today. Should I call USCIS and tell them I already did biometrics?

You usually get one appointment notice with both I-485 and I-765 listed as the case type on the notice but I assume that this is because most people send both applications at the same time.

Your office is the one that said you would have issues related to your early walk-in, right? I would definitely call them and see if you have to go in again.

I also wanted to let people know that I received my interview notice today for June 3rd! Jscoope, since we have the same timeline, you should be getting your interview letter soon as well (unless your biometrics weren't recorded for some reason).

That's really good news you got your interview letter. I was looking at some timelines and figured that I would hopefully get mine this week. I am still hopeful.

I called the 1800 number today to ask them about the biometrics stuff but they don't have operators after 6pm so I'll have to call in the morning. I don't mind going back in to do them, I just hope it's not going to slow things down. And if they are not necessary then obviously I want to let them know.

OK, just spoke with customer service and they said I do need to attend the new biometrics appointment for the EAD despite the fact I've already done biometrics for the AOS. I'm assuming it's simply because when I did the AOS bio's I didn't have a pending EAD linked to my case, so the bio results weren't applied to the EAD (as it technically didn't exist yet). Either way, I just really hope this isn't going to slow the process of the AOS down. The new biometrics appointment is for May 20.

Are you going to try to do a walk-in again or will you wait until May 20th? I don't see why they would wait for your EAD biometrics to continue processing your AOS. Hopefully you'll get your interview notice this week. Let us know when you do!

Yeh I'm just going to wait for the actual date this time. I'm banking on the fact that the AOS is underway, that is more important to me than the EAD. Just to save on the hassle I'm going to wait for the 20th.

hey! im a new zealand citizen but moved to the united states in 1997 then moved to australia in 2009 for many reasons.

i have a boyfriend of 4 years that is a citizen of the US and still living there. i definately am planning on going back to be with him! i want to go to school back in the states and was wondering how the process would work for me? we are thinking of applying for the k-1 but i want to apply for the student visa instead and finish school first and be able to work legally of course. i know i would need to save up a lot of money to live on for a while too. will i be able to try and get financial aid/scholorship from new zealand/australia to pay for school in america? :-/ how long do i have to start applying to the colleges/universities to get started in the process? ahh so many questions! =[

How old are you? if your under 21 you'll probably need to take some standardized tests, if you're over 21 you should just be able to apply outright. If you have past school grades then that would help as well. I'm not sure how the K-1 stuff works, but if you want to go to school really soon then the F-1 is probably you're best bet. You'll be able to work on campus for 20 hours a week but there not exactly good paying jobs. On the other hand if you applied for the K-1 and work authorization and got approved then you could move to the US and the put in an application for the Adjustment of Status and start working to save up some money while the AOS goes through and THEN go to school as a permanent resident.

I just read another topic where someone who on F1 OPT got a RFE for I-797. I did not send a copy myself. I did not even know we had to. This freaking sucks. I'm sure I'm going to get an RFE for that too.
