Why not do E-ticket instead? There's always an option? What kind of airline?

Also a mod should move this to RUB forum, would get more attention and responses there

E-ticket Explain?

David

Electronic ticket.

Well, an airline sends you your ticket by email. That's not a ticket in a conventional sense, but an itinerary with your confirmation number and an e-ticket number.

All you really need at check-in is your passport, since the airline will already have you on their list. E-ticket is just a security measure in case they effed something up in their computers.

SOME airlines still require you to present your itinerary (e-ticket) at check-in.

I just booked JFK-KBP with Aerosvit and they just sent me everything by e-mail.

I have never done that. E-tickets only.

I have never done that. E-tickets only.

Most airlines push you towards E-ticketing and may charge add'l for paper copies or purchases at the gate. It's been this way, at least US domestically, for a number of years now. Nothing new.

Same here. Always e-tickets. Never a problem through Kiev, Odessa or Kharkov. Just booked a one-way e-ticket for Tanya though Orbitz on LOT from Odessa to Chicago.

If you want a paper ticket, the airline will mail it to you and you must send it to the traveler. This means sending it with DHL or other shipper and will cost quite a bit.

As others have said, the E-ticket is the common way to go.
