What about the last two men with the ambulance trying to save the journalist life, what kind of weapons they had...what about a soldier raping off 14 yo girl then burning her body with gasolin to cover his * mission*..and what about and what about...you see were our tax money went!?

Wow, didn't see that part of the video where they were raping anyone. :wow:

Watch the video again and try to pay attention. They said that a van (with no markings denoting it was a rescue mission) was coming to take a hurt man away and may be collecting weapons. It is standard that the enemy try to take hurt insurgents away and weapons there so they don't fall into the hands of the government forces and squeal like a stuck pig. They had our troops heading there to capture any injured and this van pulls up. They lit them up as they were instructed to do so by their superiors. Standard procedures were followed all around.

They could have had people on the ground, rather than relying on a grainy video camera.

That would be nice if we had extra troops sitting around to patrol every block but we don't even have a lot of on foot police patrols in this country. It's called the "thin blue line". They could just wait until those guys walked away and send out ground troops in to kick in the doors but I wouldn't want to be the guy kicking in the door.

The fact is U.S. has the edge in technology and firepower and we use it so we don't have have our troops in a "fair fight" with the enemy. Also the ROE were fairly strict that the enemy only had to walk away from a weapon and live to fight another day.

The ROE are too insure the maximum amount of brave heroes return home to our families. Walk toward a firefight (as these idiots were doing in the vid and some were armed as shown) and you could end up dead. Show up with unknown kids in a van into a tense situation and one could end up dead.

I think you are talking to your self, at 4:22 the soldier said: we had a guy shooting...

i don't see any civilian, including the 2 children shootig anything..do you?

He was referring earlier then when the van with kids that was not known to be inside the van that showed up much later in the video then the 4-5 minute mark. Look you hate soldiers. We get that. You think we are all evil mofo's. We get that. You are trying very hard to malign the heroes that are our soldiers. We get that. Very few will agree with you.

Has there been a few bad apples out of the hundred of thousands? Yes there has been. Are they in prison? Yes they are. In a town of hundred of thousands will there be a few bad apples? Yes there will be.

I watched the video. It appears to me that our troops legitimately believed they had a good target. A group of apparent bad guys. Hindsight is always 20/20. However I don't see our troops as having done anything wrong on the face of the evidence in the video. Unfortunately these types of incidents can happen, but this is hardly a case where any sort of reckless disregard occurred.

My sister was there, in Iraq. Shot at many, many times. Believe it or not, there are bad guys in Iraq. For the most part, our forces are not included. As is also always the case, there are some bad apples, and good apples who do horrible things in war zones. This video falls way short of your rapist incident comment.

Ok,our soldiers are great, they never done any mistake..FOX NEWS is the best.

i hope you feel better now. :P

Don't get carried away. Fox is a partisan network but I do like that there is at least one network that is showing an opposite side. The rest are partisan networks but I can tell from your views you agree with them and wouldn't think they were.

Yes I do know how it feels. It is crushing. I still feel guilty that he went into the armed forces because he admired me and asked me to go with him when he enlisted. His mother hated me then and hates me even more now and asked me to not come to his funeral. I go to see him though when I go to the veterans cemetery and do the same thing I do when I see my fathers grave site and uncles and a couple of friends. I bring a cleaner and towel and clean the grave stones and talk to them for a bit. I am the only family or friend that ever comes to see them and I will for one never forget them. I for one even though I can be buried with them don't feel worthy to be buried among so many heroes that have given their lives for us.

Now I was am always a soldier and will damn any bad seeds that defile our name but I will never persecute any that are doing their job and a damn good one at that. I hated this war and wished we never went in.

I don't think this issue has anything to do with whether or not the soldiers were right to fire (Although relying on a grainy video camera is probably not the best thing to do). It has to do with the fact that this was covered up and the only way the video got out was that it was leaked.

The military is in a very precarious position. After the abuses of power at the prison and other incidents, continued secrecy in incidents like this is not helping improve the transparency of the military. As long as they continue, they will always be viewed with suspicion.

Of course transparency has never been part of the military culture and that has served some people quite well.

It has everything to do with it. Many people hate soldiers and will go to any lengths to defile their names. The videos was not in secret. It was there but was encrypted. They were being sued and decided to wait till the courts ruled to unencrypt it. The jackals have gotten it now and are doing what they always do. Reuters is being sued along with the military by the family for a lot of money. Reuters is covering their #### and hoping to not pay out and throw the burden onto the military and government. It was known at the military sites I am a member of.

As long as the public cannot access it, it is secret.

At the same time, there are people who see that the military can do no wrong, and any incident showing otherwise is a conspiracy against the military.
