I am starting to stress. Urgh. We still are waiting for interview letter. It's been 29 days since Biometrics. No further touches on the USCIS site. We called the info line yesterday and they quoted something like 13 months for me based on the current case load in Washington DC. That can't be right??!!!?? Our lawyers and the folks here indicate a much different timeline.

Should I stress? I know it does not help, but I was expecting alot sooner than this.

Congrats to the rest of you!

davaocitygirl,

I don't think you should stress. We're in DC too. From the looks of it, it is just going to take a while for us. There hasn't been any movement on our AOS application since right after the biometerics in March. And we are still waiting for his EAD to arrive.

It's tough seeing others, who applied almost a month after us, getting their interview notices. We try to celebrate the small stuff and be patient. My husband is definitely better at it than I am. Once we finally get his EAD and then a SSN, things will finally be able to get easier for us personally since we will be able to get him on all of my accounts.

Your timeline isn't too far behind us. So hopefully, you will get your EAD and AP appproval notices soon.

Good to see another Minnesota March filer here :) .... My applications were actually touched on 6th May and I received my AP in the mail yesterday. Should be receiving my I-765 pretty soon too, since the status changed to document production.

Good luck to you on your interview .... I'm freaked out about my interview, but I'm hoping everything goes fine and I will post my interview experience here.

Me too... freaking out. at least you got an your AP, to have a feeling of accomplishment. I haven't gotten anything - EAD or AP, yet. Hopefully it's not a sign that they are getting leery about my application. Hope everything goes well on your interview.

I will post my experience too :)

> davaocitygirl and kittens_0117,

I am not if this may help you to feel better.

3-5 months is now normal processing time for AOS. So you would be lucky if you get GC before that and it is normal if you get it in normal processing time.

I understand everyone has different situation, but bottom line is we want it qucik so bad.

I applied for my wife's GC through VWP which is risky, but had to do with it since I am leaving US for 9 months due to business trip to India, this was sudden offer from the company, so I forced her to come to US and help to maintain all belongings. She quit the job and left everything as is in Japan. We have lived sepratly for 5 yrs and had planed to process AOS in proper way. (CR-1), but had to change at last moment. She has been struggling US life coz she can't work, she can't open her own bank account and she can't go back home in Japan when she wants or she has to till get GC.

We used to argue a lot, till the point we started doing something to forget about GC. (Picnic, BBQ, going out and surfing etc..) and finally came to the point "Let it be" "It is what it is" kinda thing. I know it is easy to say, but hard to do. Overall experience during waiting time even though we have not received one yet, but this waiting actually help our relationship better as we both moved toward to same goal, shared emotional moment, and talked each other your mind from bottom of heart.

We both didn't worry at all at interveiw, not even at waiting room, coz we had confident and we already made up our mind to do whatever it takes for both of us to be together, maybe move back to Japan or go somewhere etc... for just in case of denial.

Again, Everyone here is moving towards to same goal, so we all understand each other, we all want help each other and we all successfully receive GC.

Thanks for your time reading my comment.

Hi guys, I am February filer, but since everyone is approved already from February, and I was the last one to have interview, I thought I will write here my feedback on how it went since people are still waiting :)

We went through the security and came to the waiting area about 20 minutes before the interview time. By the time our lawyer looked through the documents and our wedding pictures, we were called in by a lady immigration officer. She was all smiley and looked like a nice person.

When we entered the office we had to raise our right hand and swear to tell the truth. When we sat, our lawyer advised the IO that English is not my first language (even though I speak fluently) so I need a little bit more time to put sentences together (since I was nervous!). She asked for our IDs, my birth certificate. The IO then started going through the I-485 confirming our address, name, telephone numbers and etc. Then she went through the "have you ever..." questions. She then did the same to my husband. She also asked me how did I support myself since coming here on tourist visa (May 2008 to May 2009 when I got married). Then she started asking questions about our relationship, where did we meet (I started telling her our story and she seemed to be confused, so I had to repeat and clarify it maybe three times and then our lawyer wanted to clarify it to her too, but she looked at my lawyer and said that the lawyer should not be answering questions (which she wasn't!) and that my lawyer's job is just to sit there (awkward!)! And then the IO wrote everything down what we said. Then she asked when was the next time that we met, when did we become exclusive, when did our relationship got serious, when did my husband proposed to me. As we were talking she kept writing everything down. She asked my husband when did he introduced me to his parents, if I met any of his siblings; if he met any of my siblings; also if we went to honeymoon.

Then she asked to see some evidence. I had everything organized in two folders, one where I kept all the originals and the other one where I had copies for the IO. So my lawyer just handed over the copies to her that were in the immigration folder and the IO started going through it and she looked confused as to what was where (so I told her: this is the renter's insurance, this is the agreement and etc). She skipped through utility bills and wasn't happy that BOTH of our names were not there (some had my husband's name, and the others had my name on it), so we told her that the utility companies don't put two names on the bill, it is one name primary and the other one authorized (not shown on the bill). The IO then told us that she saw other people that had both names on it. So my husband just said that probably some utility companies put two names on it and the other ones don't. So she just kept the copies that had both of our names on it and joint account bank statement. She asked if we filed joint taxes (we didn't).

Then she asked to see pictures. I presented her with our Wedding Picture Book (about 100 pictures) and also another album that had pictures of us throughout the relationship (about 60 pictures). So she quickly skipped through it and I offered that she is welcome to keep any pictures that she wants, so she kept the whole bunch of the extra pictures that I had from our wedding.

Then she asked me how was I able to open a bank account with no SSN, so I told her the story. And then she started typing something on the computer and then printed a paper. I couldn't really see what was written in there but I just saw "Congratulations" and I knew that we were approved. The IO then went to make extra copies of the approval letter and when she came back she said that we were approved and told us about the next step of the condition removal process.

So I would say our interview was about 15-20 minutes and we were out of the building by 10AM.

So YEY! My hubby and I are so happy and I feel like a stone has been lifted off of me :D

So good luck to everyone else who is waiting :)
