I'm trying to make mine myself. Place cards too. I found place cards on office depot, but can't find gift tags...should I just break down and buy personalized ones?

Any one have any experience making their own?

ARGH! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

I was thinking the exact same thing on my way home from work. As a matter of fact, I got the placecards at Office Depot too. Which ones did you get, we got the white ones with the platinum edge. If I find anything (looking for matching tags at the moment) would you like me to post it for you?

OMG please! That would be great. I have found sites all over the internet where they'll personalize them FOR you but I'd rather save the money and do it myself, yanno??

The ones we got have a pearlized border but I know which ones you'r talking about!!

When is your wedding?

Hiya

You might want to try Ebay. They have special wedding/reception stores that specialize in just these kinds of things. Super-cheap personalized tags, ribbons, favors, etc.

So here is a cute idea I just recently saw at a wedding.

They get these small colored boxes and label them with a sticker. I saw it in Gold, and they had a label with their initials and the date.

They put them on a table with bowls of bulk candy that people could fill their boxes up with. really cute!!!

You can use any kind of small box that will close. It was really a hit!!!

I was going to suggest that. I think they will look nice. I paid to have mine done from a great gal on ebay and while they were cute, it was a waste of money).

I wanted to get those cute little favor boxes too but they were just WAY too much money and I wanted that money used elsewhere. We ended up using these nice circles of sparkly tulle and tied them up into little bundles with those nice meltaway mines and some pretty ribbon. I mean, after all, people throw the wrapping away and all they want is what's inside!

We didn't do placecards though since there wasn't assigned seating at our wedding. I'm not sure what you mean about gift tags, I mean, I know what they are of course, but do you mean each person at your wedding is going to get a wedding favor with a gift tag addressed to them? I've actually never heard of that done before so I have no idea where to find them! I'd be interested to hear about them if someone does find them though!

This is what we did...I printed them out with the celtic design "theme" we used and our names and date. Then I used a scalloped-edge pair of scissors (like for scrapbooking) to make the edges pretty. Tied them with ribbon and it worked like a dream.
