My fiancee and I received notice that our K-1 was received by the Bangkok embassy last week. I received an email saying they packet 3

was mailed last Friday. Saturday Thai time I had her package up all the stuff for the P3 and mail it EMS. The embassy received it their

Mon. morning before 9am. At around 10:30am they called her and told her the interview was this Wed, the 24th with an email on the way

with the time and further instructions. I was totally shocked as to how fast they set an interview date. Luckily I had her way ahead of

the game and had her medical and police report done weeks ago, shots taken. I had also filled out all the forms and mailed them to her

so all she had to do was fill in the Thai parts and sign what needed to be signed. Anything to make it easier for her to get them mailed.

Just thought I'd let you all know that some embassies move quickly.....sometimes!!

For some reason the last couple months interviews have been going real fast. I was so shocked they called her so fast but I am certainly not

going to complain.

Great news for you. I'm happy. I suggested to my fiancée to get her police records done early also and she told me that she could not get them without the NOA2 because the Thai government won't give it to anyone without a good reason and they'll ask for the visa document before accepting the reason etc....

How did your fiancée manage to get hers?

Um, actaully they just wanted to have at least the fiance's copy of passport ( USA) then no need NOA2 if you post from another country or in person. I tried to send all stuff (but no NOA2)with my friend from Melbourne to get the police check done, but my friend said she couldnt do it because they needed more stuff, so I had to go back to Thailand (just back to Sydney to get medical exam) and got it ( my NOA2 proved on the day we were on the plane )the police said if i sent it by post from Australia,it would be easier than sending with a person or even come in person.

but i also can get all vaccines done! cheaper in Thailand tho.

I and my fiance'(Chad) were working holidays both in Australia so we decided to apply trough Australian embassy,so it costs more!(medical here is 319 dollars, cant believe it!) but,um hope it is better then.

I am going to take the medical exam tomorrow in Sydney, send all stuff when got a result and wait for an interview date here. Hopefully all done within a few weeks, then i can go back to Thailand, home sweet home!(my fiance is now in Bangkok! wish he here)

Cheers,

Gev

I had scanned and emailed the NOA1 to her. We did not have NOA2 when she went. So she took a copy of the NOA1, ID card, house book, copy of her passport. They asked her for a copy of mine but I told her they

did not need it and when she went back to pick it up she did not give them one. They also took her photo when she went. She also did the medical early but I waited and had her go after I knew the file was at NVC.

Then I knew we were close. Med is good for one year.

I also had her go get her shots early too. Especially since they had her go back and get boosters a month later. We used a hosp. some other people getting visas have used, not one of the hospitals you get the exam at.

I think it's Saovabha Hospital. If you look for it on the internet you can see the prices of the shots. Something to get done early and when she got the med exam she didn't need any shots. More I can tell you to do

early but don't have time. Send me an email in here and I'll tell you what we did to prepare so she was ready once we knew they had mailed the Packet 3.

Woo Hoo!!! That's great, Tom! Hopefully N'Teaw will be here soon.

gbagbo,

We did the same thing as Tom. Husby took his NOA1 and my passport (that I scanned to him) and his passport, ID card, and House Registration to get his police certificate. No problems. He picked it up the next day (usually takes about a week) and sent it to me. We're waiting on doing the medical, but I've known it to be done with the NOA1 as well. Vaccines... get them done at the local clinic or risk paying an extra ฿3000 at Bamrungrad.

Gev, don't forget about both the Australian and Thai police certificates if your fiance was in either country for more than 6 months. Yes, I know it says a year, but better safe than sorry. If your fiance is interviewing in Thailand, then the Australian police certificate will have to be certified by the Australian Embassy in Bangkok once more before it can be sent to NVC. A friend learned this the hard way.

You can get the med exam with an NOA1 but it's better to have the BNK or Bangkok embassy number first so the doc can put it on the forms. The exam will take a couple hours or so and she had to go back later in the day to pick it up so plan for that too. We used Bumrungrad Hosp. for the exam.
