I would think you should change your address as soon as possible. Make sure you have put in a change of address with the Post Office so you will get your mail forwarded to your new address in the mean time.

Check the USCIS website to see what it says about the address change. If there is a phone number on your NOA1 then call them and they should be able to tell you.

Not to pick on you, but you didn't know you were moving 2 weeks before you did?

Anyway - you have no choice but to complete an AR-11 ((Here) for the PR/Green Card holder and an I-865 (Here) for the US citizen spouse/sponsor.

Tip:

At your new address - be sure to put both your names on the inside of your new mailbox (somewhere where the carrier will see it - inside of the lid, for example). This will help when getting mail from the government - the carrier will know for sure you live there if he/she doesn't know you.

Are you able to get your mail from your old address? (Is someone going to give you any mail that comes after you've moved?)

Unfortunately government mail is not forwarded HOWEVER if you put a forward on your mail it WILL make the post office "return to sender" any government mail and in the case of USCIS, they will update your case online to reflect that they tried to send you something and that you need to change your address OR they will get it back and then notice the change of address and send it to your new address.

This way is best because then you know some strange person doesn't have your very important mail. Make sure you're registered to check your case online, just in case.

You need to go to the online Change of Address site here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa and change it online as well as sending them the physical form.

** moving from "Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports" to "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from Family Based Visas" as the prior forum is for case updates/progress and this one is for questions**

We changed our address on Feb. 19 with USCIS, the day we completed our move. We called the customer service line and got their three confirmation letters that address has been changed. Also, you need to file AR-11 online and send a I-865 if you sent in I-864. We also changed our address with USPS to have any mail forwarded. So far, there has been no new mail going to the new address, as USPS took care of the forwarding already.

We recently received our AP and EAD at our new address, so if you follow the procedures above you should have no problems.

Hope this helps!
