I Received 2 AOS Case Numbers?

I sent in my documents for AOS and Advanced Parole, and requested email notification. Today I received 2 identical emails with the exception that each had a different MSC case number. Is this a mistake, or does the AP get a separate case number from the AOS? The notifications did not specifiy which case number was for the I-485 and which for the AP.

No, it's not a mistake. Each application receives a separate receipt number. I applied for I-130, I-485 and I-765 and I received three different MSC case numbers.

Go to USCIS.gov and check your case status using the receipt numbers your received. It will indicate the case number with its corresponding application (I-485 or AP).

Most likely the lower number will be I-485 and higher number will be I-131. Check on the USCIS website (when they get it running again)...

We received 3 separate MSC numbers, 1 each - AOS, AP & EAD.

Once you log on USCI's website & check status with both the MSC number you will find out exactly which application the case numbers are assigned to.

Good Luck.
