I stumbled across the book in my early years of work, a salesgeek told me that his manager made em all read it .

Each company that I touch, it becomes required reading material, from managers up to President level.

Seems to have made a difference, these 15+ years.

ps - if you've just stumbled into this thread, do, please, read the book? Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand. If yer an older fella, ya, it does come in big print, at the library.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I'd put it right up there with L. Ron Hubbard's, Dianetics. Both books have built up cult followings.

I recongize both books...and read both...recognize both as 'dumb'...

I tried reading Atlas Shrugged, but found it difficult to read...and I've read Faulkner, Joyce, Hemingway...sorry, but Rand just doesn't even come close.

Ya - her writing is a bit tedious, in that book. Sorry.

 No need to apologize.

There should be a purose to writing books ( I am currently writing a book, so sorry is this is my own subjective input) which is to advance the topic. However, in my mind, a topic like dianetics is non-topical...but without a doubt could be a best-seller.

I've read them all, too. I've facilitated Hemingway's "Clean Well-Lighted Place" to my first batch of senior high school students. My last batch of fourth year students liked Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily" the most aside from Robert Browning's "My Last Duchess."

Among all pieces of literature that I admire so much, there's only one book that I've made sure to give a room for before flying to the U.S.-- Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet." I wanted to bring as much books as liked from Cebu. However, that wasn't feasible.

Here's the online copy of "The Prophet":
